unlucky Hullbridge..

Recommended Posts

What can we say?We gave a go and only two injuries to our goalscorers tonight prevented a brave Hullbridge side from pulling another surprising result. We started,as usual, with an early gift from our centre halves that failed to clear a ball stuck in the muddy(shocking they wont play another match there for ages)at the edge of the box after 1 minute and 55 secs!1-0 down. The Brentwood side were showing why they are top of the ESL and doubled the lead on 25th minutes when Chris tomlinson failed to clear a long punt from the brentwood keeper and allowed Begg to round Richard mann and score.2-0!Hullbridge tried to get back in the game and a shot from the edge of the box from Hullbridge best player on the night,Neal Hughes pulled one back for the visitors on 39th minutes.2-1.Hullbridge had another good start and after 2 minutes a 25 yds shot was parried away from Richard

Mann to the feet of the Brentwood forward that had the simple task to tap in from 10 yds 3-1.Hullbridge went at the other end and a Mike Trenkle magic scored another one for The Bridge boys a minute later.3-2!Brentwood started to give the ball away and the Hullbridge players started believing that they could get something out of the game.Brentwood knew they were in a real game now and they had to draw all the energy to try to stop a spirited Hullbridge side. When an equalizer was looming on the cards, luck struck for Brentwood:Neal Hughes, now captain, twisted his ankle and had to come off replaced by Luke Wilson, with Mike trenkel dropped into midfield.Even so Michael started pulling strings in midfield and showing glimpses of class but again luck struck again for Brentwood. With 13 minutes left on the clock,mr n.cowley left a nice autograph on michael boots forcing him to come off reducing Hullbridge down to 10 players.3-2 down and 10 players the bravehearts from Hullbridge tried to get an equalizer but were down with another couple of long punts over the top, which the hullbridge defence and their keeper failed to clear allowing Brentwood to score two more goals in the last 7 minutes and giving them a flattering scoreline.

I must say i'm proud of the lads performance,a little bit less about the way they came off the pitch, with half of them ignoring the instructions for the warm down. It's all about good habits and is better that some players learn that quickly or they will face the full wrath of Coachie's fury. The sooner they learn it the better is...Anyway just to let you know, after signing James Marrable i had to let one of the gks go and Adam Seal is now available to any team looking for a gk.

All the best to Adam and good luck at your new club.

Unfortunately it wasn't unluck. The pitch was a massive leveller.Sure Hullbridge put up a fight but it could and should of been about 7-1 at half time.Shows the sign of a good side when you play rubbish and still score 5 goals

As for Nicky Cowley leaving a calling card, he was on the end of some awful tackles so when he done one back why does everyone moan

i overheard Amin saying to his colleague "they can pass the ball why we can't"the pitch is not an excuse he said to your manager..you scored with 3 balls over the top and our defence and keeper didn't deal with that and these are Amin words.your number 11 should have been sent off.He should have had a yellow card in the first half and one in the second and got away lightly. You have been in a real game and a bunch of unpaid kids have given you a game till your best player nicknamed "i kick everything around me" decided to stamp his foot on Michael Trenkel with 13 minutes to go.Down to 10 players and losing hughes and trenkel(the two goalscorers) injured finished our game.It would have been interesting to see with them 2 playing till the end what would have happened....
Just look at your web-site:at least they are more honest than you!
