Barts is anything but a big time charlie. Honest and hard working, a local lad, and somebody I would be sad to see go. He's been on the bench recently rather than in the team despite all the comings and goings so would not blame him for moving on in search of regular first team football.

cant undestand why thatcham would want mark bartlett, ive watch mark hundreds of times and hes not even one of the top 6 players in is sunday league team.never understand how he plays at that standard as all he does is run bout alot with no end product.if your looking for players come and watch the reading sat and sunday senior league, lots of them should be playing higher football and if you dont believe it ask mark im self .

Maybe a lot of them should be, but as I've had this discussion with a number of people I work with who are potentially good enough to make the step up, they are neither committed enough or want to give up their beers on a Friday night to play at a higher level. They are in the comfort zone where they can go out and drink themselves silly on a Friday and not have to worry about it on a Saturday.

The other alternative is that they don't fancy the travel and training and just want the easy life. We'd sorted that problem out by ridding ourselves of those sorts of players earlier in the season!
