I resigned this morning from Eton Manor FC. Its been a roller coaster ride over the last 4 years but I've enjoyed it...most of the time! I have my reasons but being professional I will keep them to myself. I have had several offers to Coach/Manage since Kirk Whitelock left but I stayed loyal to Eton Manor in the belief we would move forward. However this has not been the case.

 

I started as a player four years ago and midway through the second season Kirk gave me the opportunity to become First Team Coach, an opportunity I will always be grateful for. Various obstacles got in the way of the coaching namely a lack of training facilities. However this season all that was rectified and after a fantastic pre season I had high hopes for the club. We were doing well up until December when injuries and suspensions finally took their toll. We have been in decline ever since in my humble opinion. Having lost 3 of our most influential players for various reasons and despite my best efforts to bring players in, the lack of money limits my capabilities greatly.

 

I still love Eton Manor dearly and wish Graham Chester, Jamie Warren and Martin Ash every success. I would also like to say thank you to Reg Curtis and Alex Lee for their support and confidence in me. I will miss them both. Larry McDonald has been missing alot this season for various reasons and he too has always been a great believer and supporter of myself and Eton Manor FC. The same goes for Paul Tandy who has not only produced one of the best websites in the Essex Senior league but one of the best in non league football. I would also like to thank all the players who have been at the club and who have always done their best for the club. Especially the Legend Marshy and Stretch who are the sole surviors of the journey that started 4 years ago.

 

Lastly I would like to thank the one and only Kirk Whitelock for not only giving me the chance to coach at this level but for also having unwaving and unconditional support and confidence in me. We argued, we fell out but we were always friends and still are and at the end of the day we always done the best for Eton Manor FC.

 

So I wave a fond farewell to Eton Manor but will still be around this forum to make comments, enjoy the banter and take the p***!

I'll spend some time with the family and look at where I go from here and hopefully see you lot again somewhere.

Thats really nice mate of you mate. Much appreciated. We didn't see eye to eye but thats football! It's all about opinions and personalities and sometimes even mates argue. Me and Kirk argued all the time. Even though we didn't see eye to eye we both at the clubs best interests at heart just from didn't perspectives. You have shown alot of humility by wishing me well and shown you are a good guy.
