our corner kicks

Although we have a much better team than in recent years, what has happened to our corner kicks and dead ball kicks, we were a much feared team in these situations.Goals and goalmouth action were plentiful, but now we are full time with plenty of time to practice them, we get nowhere near scoring. The kick itself is much to near the keeper its just catching practice for him. We had eight corners yesterday, many of them in the first half and apart from the short one, none of them produced a shot or header at goal.Alan kimble could land a ball on a ten pence piece from 50 meters when he played for wimbledon, why are his skills not rubbing off on our boys.

AK may well have had the ability to plant a few good balls into the area, but he had bigger targets to aim for at Wimbledon.

As we have seen this season against sides with " barn doors" as centre halves ( the Stafford game springs to mind ), it's just heading practice for them when we send high balls into the box.

Cheers,

True. What's the point of giving away possession immediately like we always do?

As for corners they are almost always disappointing. Nine times out of ten, as stated, they provide simple catching practice for the defending 'keeper. Perhaps we should dust down the "We never score from corners" chant.

Our set pieces definitely need to be looked at by manager/coaches alike.
