Shots Worrying?

Just been on the Aldershot message board and I think Proths' phone calls might be working! Their fans are definately looking over their shoulders at us now!! Apparently they think we've got the best chance of catching them and someone has been comparing our remaining fixtures with theirs - they prefer ours!!!

 

Looks like March 25th will be another big Tuesday night game! Remember last season's?

Somewhat ironic (spooky even) that the Aldershot game on March 25th is a year ago to the day of that epic match at Gravesend!

 

Shots are definitely getting jittery. OK they beat Boreham Wood today but their last five fixtures have been against teams in the bottom half and they've hardly been convincing in any of them.

 

Their defence seems OK but according to reports on the Non League Website, manager Terry Brown is not happy with his side, especially the midfield and wants to bring new players in.

Top scorer Paul Moody has apparently been put on the transfer list!

 

They don't seem to score many goals and mostly win games by a single goal.

 

Looking at their run in, they have the likes of Hendon, Purfleet, St Albans and ourselves in the last month of the season. Not easy at all!!

 

I bet they wished they'd never let Prothers go! No wonder Stafford Browne has rejoined them!!

You can just imagine it can't you, Purfleet beat Aldershot at Purfleet where the atmosphere would be like a morgue and then St. Albans can only managed a draw with the specialists Basingstoke while we take the title at Kingstonian if they are still in exhistance or if they're not everyone gets down to Park Lane to witness the final scores in the Clubhouse they come through and we're crowned Champions without having to play on the last day of the season - What a dream!!

Nice to see that Hendon got a draw in the Trophy,they,re looking good but the fixtures are starting to pile up

Yes, have to agree and for good reason too.

I go on the Shots board often as most do and have noticed over the season a poster called Manchu who I am lead to believe heads a group of experts who tend to be very near the mark when it comes to correct forcasts. They seem to be tipping us as a major force for league honours.

Lets hope Manchu is right in his forcast, he had made a posting just prior to my recent visit to the Shotswebb, makes interesting reading.

With only the League and the Bryco Cup to go for now, we could be playing ourselves in the Ryman Charity Shield if we win them both!!

well i'd rather have the roles reversed, be 10 points clear and worrying about the shots... we have done mightly well to get in amongst the chasing pack but we still have no room for error.. also look at mervs stats page and check out our record agianst the top half of the league, its not pretty..(granted we did play some of the top teams away when they were on fire and we were at our worst) tuesday nights game will tell us pretty much what we need to know, i'll be needing a few 1664's to see me through that one if its tight... also we need some clean sheets..

despite all that we are back in the hunt and all credit to the team for the recent run..also for the entertaining football, a lot of fans in this league have had to watch some real neagative dross this season, at least we look to win redargless, for the full 90 mins

Where a month ago I didn't have a hope of us doing anything this term. I now feel that if we can regain the form we showed in the Heybridge game and consistantly, my expectations are getting ever higher!!
