Must say that song made me laugh, the Hertford fans were VERY vocal in the second half of the match, the loudest I have heard any fans against Edgware for a long time. I took the banter in good spirit, though they could not hear my friend and I singing in the second half as we were down the other end and in the open, whereas in the fist half we were under cover and could make some noise.

 

The game was a tight close contest, with IMO Edgware having the better chances, our defence played very well, and I thought that Adam Wallace caused them all sorts of problems with his pace and strength.

 

I thought that Hertford would have tested us a bit more seeing that they were at home, but they did create more in the second half and nearly snatched a goal in stoppage time.

 

All in all, a good day out, I met a lot of the Hertford fans, for some reason everyone wanted to know where Gavin was, I overheard a few of them saying anyone know if Gavin is here, we have some good songs for him, little did they know they were walking just past me LOL.

 

The Edgware team left the bar and it was just me and my mate and the Hertford players/fans in the bar, I thought I might get lynched, but it was ok, they were all nice and we were waiting for our lift, as they must have thought why we were there so long.

 

I think that both Edgware and Hertford DESERVE to GO UP, and I hope that is the case, both clubs with all due respect are too good for the SSML and should be playing at a higher level.

It was 189, Coup - biggest SSMFL Premier Div gate of season. 175 Hertford fans and 14 Edgware!

Damn - our gateman told me after the gate had been announced that he had missed one, and it was really 190! (one more Hertford fan, that is!)

LOL Horace, I think there waa a few more then 14 Edgware fans, but its fair to say it was a poor turn out. Our regulars always go home/away games, but they are made up of club officials/and players family, mostly dads. I am a club official, but I count myself as a fan first and foremost, and with my friend are the only vocal fans, as in getting behind the team.

 

I wish we had the numbers that Hertford did behind the goal in the second half and could really get behind the team vocally like they did.

HTFCONE, did you enjoy our singing in the first half? at least we did not get the air horn out LOL. First half we could make some noise under the cover, second half we were totally outsung as the Hertford fans moved to the cover and made a lot of noise.

Ok, maybe there were 20, including the committee! But no more than that! So that would make it 169:20 !

you and your mate were very vocal in the first half...its a pity theres only 2 of you...Hertford fans were in good voice in the second half...the singing under the cover certainly helps...full credit to you for taking the songs about you in good heart...i must admit i smiled at the 'jingle bells juingle bells jingle all the way oh what fun it was to watch gavin run away'...i bet you even had a chuckle at that one !

Yeah I took them in good spirit, and I DID laugh, in fact its quite a compliment to have so many singin about me, in a bizare sort of way.
