Hullbridge Sports after a 2 weeks league break, got back into action with a

convincing 4-1 away win at Tilbury based Eton Manor.U'18s goalkeeper

Richard Mann replaced Adam seal in the Hullbridge goal,Tough tackling

midfielder Paul Oakley was restored to the side,Gary Ogilvie was back from

his Concord spell on the left side,Luke Williams was moved to the back and

talented Forward Michael Trenkel made his debut in a blue and white Bridge

shirt. The 18 years old, signed last tuesday night from olimpyan side White

Ensign showed early on what he is made of,with a tremendous shot across

the goal, tipped over by the Manor keeper. On 23rd minutes a beautiful cross

from left inside forward Chay Spreadborough was meet at the back post with

a diving header from the teenager Trenkel, giving the Bridge boys a

deserved lead.Gary Paterson,Neil hughes,Chay Spreadborough and Chris Brown

all went close to double the lead before the interval.Team talk at

half-time was all about getting some early goals in the second half and

kill the game off.Thing that the Hullbridge lads took to the letter.Chris

Brown was sent flying down the right flank with a well weighted pass from

Oakley and the Hullbridge winger delivered a perfect cross to the

evergreen Neil Hughes, that smashed home with a well timed header from the

penalty spot,2-0 on 55th minutes.Four minutes later,Chay Spreadborough was

sent through with an inch perfect pass from Michael Trenkel and after

beating the last defender,he lobbed the Eton Manor keeper with a delicious

lob from the edge of the 18yds box,3-0 on 59th minutes and game over! There

was still time for Hullbridge youngster Luke Wilson to come on and score

his first senior goal for the Bridge with an accurate inside volley from

15 yds out after another assist from the magical left foot Chay

Spreadborough on 72th minute.Manor got a late consolation goal on 83th

minutes but it was too little, too late to show in a match where a

tough, uncompromising and well drilled Hullbridge side that attacked with

strenght and pace, dominated from the first minute to the last.Certainly a

nice way to celebrate Hullbridge defender Lee Daves girlfriend giving

birth in midweek to a beautiful baby girl named Charlotte!Well done lads

as well from our number one supporter Steve Davidson who managed to get to

the match on time to see the second half goals..Now let's go and pay a

visit to Brentwood Town on tuesday night and see what happens...

Well done boys a fully deserved victory. We were shocking from start to finish which obviously owed alot to the way you played.

Probably one of the worst performances I have witnessed for a long time at Eton Manor. Too many players talking rather than playing a good game and others just not good enough.

A very long and a very tough road back for us!

Nice to meet you Jack!

he had a groin operation and been out for 3 months the same as george cheesewright(knee),paul oakley(calf),julian richards(knee),graham herman(appendicitis), and danny warrilow moving to australia.we could have had 6 points more and being within distance of most of the teams above. crazy
