MATCH THREAD: Slough v Hendon

Poor game on a crap pitch. I thought it was fairly even most of the time, though Hendon looked more likely to score whenever they went forward, whereas we never really did. Hale should have scored, but I can't remember much else.

Still, fair play to Hendon, and since it seems we have no chance of staying up, I hope they can.

did not think we deserved to lose, we deserved a point from that. rubbish officials once again, i cannot see how raising your arms (yes hendon number 10) in front of the ref is not a red card offence. did anyone see what mills actually did?

cannot fault the players for effort again though.

I too noticed the new support... hope the aggressive (but passionate) words shouted behind the goal didn't put them off returning... crap ref and suspect linesman but not all the blame can go to them - the pitch was APPALLING.

My ladies' team plays on a pitch that has Slough Town FC training on it plus Church Lane and KS Gryffs playing on Sunday mornings and the occasional friendly game and it still looks better than windsor's...

Unfortunately didn't see anything to do with the Mills incident, will be interesting to see if anyone DID actually see anything and whether it was provoked or not. The hendon back four were good defensively but certainly a bit too 'grabby' for my liking - especially during dead ball situations.

And that number 2 needs to learn to count to 10 - he was never ten yards away from any of the free kicks we were awarded.

Saying all that it was nice to see a bunch of away supporters make some noise and bring flags for a change - also hope the team stays up.

Very disappointing day. Had no idea why Mills got sent off, until I was told at the end of the game it was for throwing a punch. Again, I can't believe the Hendon retaliation was not given a card.

I thought we defended OK, with lots of last ditch tackles and people throwing themselves infront of the ball, to be outdone with a pin-ball type of goal.

Again, I thought the players gave all they could, and were completely let down by the swamp.

One funny moment was when the Hendon No. 10 was getting up after being fouled. The ref helped him and he then used the ref as a towel to clean his hands.

Also, the linesman at the entrance end was officiating his very first game, and had quite a few words with the Hendon manager and players, especially when he got it wrong (in their view).

See you all at East Thurrock.

At least the atmosphere was decent again today - I think it helps us as much as it does the players. Good to see the mood is still fairly jovial behind the goal too, I think it's one of the reasons some people still attend.

Certainly the first time I've heard a Jason Donovan song on the terraces of Stag Meadow as well!

Yes agree with Matt, the games are social meeting too , and good to see all your friends....The game was a battle from start to finish against the elements...Slough really battled hard in the second half and had some chances , so its not all gloom and doom..

as for poor Mills getting a red card, this was for lashing out , but no 10 was pulling and fouling poor mills, you know how it is when someone pulls your shirt, most people lash out to get them to let go, if the ref said he saw the whole incident then why did no 10 not even received at booking...yes its wrong to lash out but in this circumsance its a natural reaction.. to get the person who is fouling to stop it...

Slough should contest this one !

keep at you Rebels...who can fail to appreciate the 110 % effort out there now..proud to support you....
