How has the council dealt with your ground needs?

Good post Guernsey Tom;annd spot on imo.

I guess the one thing missing is money which is needed to develop the ground.

In many ways, i applaud the piecemeal and pragmatic approach to developing the ground.

That implies however that the external funders-Margate and Hartsdown development company led by Gary Lever are alot less involved .

Does anyone know if MR Lever is still thrusting forward with this development opportunity;or as is the case with so many developers;has a more certain, easier and profitable opportunity arisen elesewhere and club are 'left to paddle their own canoe' ?

There are a number of rumours going around at the moment about the ground. One version I have heard is that building will go ahead, but in stages. This will allow us to continue to play at HP while work is going on. Its just a thought, but the lack of information may be deliberate. How many times have we been told that something is going to happen, only to be let down. The board may not be saying anything while negotiations are in progress. Remember the old saying, no news is good news. I think that if it was a complete non starter the board would tell us. What would have they got to gain from keeping that quiet? For a start alternative fund raising would have to be started. There is also the question of a lack of commercial manager at the moment. Things may be closer than we think, I hope I am right. Lets have faith for a little longer.

totally agree with Guernsey Tom that if we don`t sort things out soon we will fall behind the likes of Dartford and Maidstone , making life very hard for ourselves in the process with as GT saying better players joining them not us . Makes me feel annoyed just thinking how this could really happen if the club dosen`t sort things out soon .

I hope your right! But after all this time many people are very sceptical about the people running both the club and council. Will either of them really turn up trumps. And yes what has happened to Gary Lever?

This might seem a little simplistic and if tried before I will keep the peace but, is it worth making an official request for an update on the progression of the new ground through the E mail facility on the "Contact us" link. I am sure that if enough requests are made that the club should make a statement on the situation on the club website they may take the hint or at the very least offer an explanation of the no news. I would be grateful for the views of othere re this.

I think thats been tried umpteen times but to no avail.

However I think it be a good idea this time to just hold fire as GOOD NEWS might be imminent without a prompt..(Please don't ask me to elaborate on this as I wont do so,& besides I don't know for certain,)but I seriously do believe we are to hear good news very very soon,at long last.As Alan says "keep the faith".

Now,lets go into tomorrows match with confidence in abundance.

To a comment about just getting into the papers and being called a moron I would like to say I could goto the papers at anytime and for any reason I thought i would try and get some true thoughts and ideas from true Margate supporters that I could use when knocking on doors (in my own time) and if was lucky enough to get elected could help Margate.....
