To all Margate Football club supporters,

I am very interessed in hearing all of your comments, plans, views about Margate Football club's development.

I am standing in the local elections as a Labour candidate, and I have a nephew who attends every home, and reserve games. I believe that Margate Football club should be, and will be a thing to be proud of in the local area.

Please send comments to the following adress: bonkersbob1772@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you for your help.

I think you can answer that yourself by going down to the gate and looking. What we need is Dartfords council who realised the club can be a main part of the community. we need something done after running and coaching youth teams in Thanet over the last 14 years I know how much a decent Facility would be used and indeed is needed.

With Ref to Ians comments on my nickname please dont judge me on a nickname which Ive had for many years. I posted a question on this forum to get a general view how margate supporters think, and how if elected I could help promote not just Margate football club but Thanet in a whole.

Bonkers Bob is known to me also through my work & he is a real genuine guy. He requires your thoughts, ideas & take on things as you personally see them. He has our club near to,if not at, the forefront of his aims to improve things. He has on many occasions, might I add, been on the terraces with us too at HP.

Yes,he has supported the "Gate" & as far as I know still does.

Please e.mail him with your thoughts & any concerns you might have about the club. I know he would like to know, especially, your thoughts on the ongoing saga we find ourselves in with the ground.

A really nice guy, trying to do his bit for us, as well as the area.

Just a word of warning about electioneering before the allowed date. It is illegal and they are hot on it down here.

Other than that despite my normal political leanings just treat the townsfolk as human beings and treat them with respect. Do that and you will get respect back

Would prefer that you claimed out of pocket expenses only rather than be part of the £250,000 annual bill for councillors allowerences. (Maybe that could be one of your canvassing points!!)

Thanet would really benefit from a succesful football club. If the Council does still own the ground they should do something about it for the good of everyone in Thanet. How much money has been poured into the Turner Centre,Westwood Cross and London Manston Airport!!!

For a fraction of that money you could have a very much needed facility that would attract far more people to the Island than Manston etc.
