New Contract

I am Spartacus

Recommended Posts

In todays Gazette it is reported that Piper said "It's probally an issue the board will start discssing now."

What is the issue? Well it's Robin's new contract. Let's hope the board get one thing right this year and that is to get him to sign a new contract.

I for one want him to sign one and take us onwards and upwards.

If I remember correctly, the board set out very high targets at the start of the season that Trotty had to achieve in order to gain another contract - something like first round of the FA Cup, a run in the Trophy and the title. So, in theory, as he did not achieve this, will they reconsider? Although I must point out that, as far as I'm concerned, Trotty must stay. We have a very good side now who I am certain will achieve promotion this year (be it as champions or through the playoffs, I'm really not bothered!)

Well RT has delivered so far(excepting the cups) and you can't do better than be top of the league.

I'm fully expecting us to be in play-offs now ,so again he will have delivered what was minimally expected.

Its only now though that the pressure really starts.

How will RT handle and motivate the squad to achieve over the remaining games-will the pressure of every game now being a must-win get to some.

Will the fact that we have not strengthened the squad in the last two months come back to haunt us,or will it bond the existing players even more?

Personally, i think RT has done great ,but possibly a few more questions to answer before the season is out

I agree mm, for a 1st managerial post trotty has done fantastically well not only in his role as manager but also player, which is also due to his shrewd appointment of mike flanagan as his assistant this proves that young enthusiasm and experience make a great combination!

Keep up the good work guys and lets hope you are rewarded for all your hard work over the season!

No discussion needed they both deserve new contracts, the partnership can only get better! They'd be mad not to offer him a new contract!

Agree with you there Lloydy. Was not that impressed with Trotty when he started but his football has improved 200% (probably something to do with Pat Sapp) and although we have picked faults with his style of management sometimes, we only have to look at the league table to see what he's done!

So let's all get behind him and the team for the remainder of what could be another historic season for our club!

Trotty has done a wonderful job since he`s been at the club both as a player and as a manager . To take on the club and to be doing so well just about sums up what Trotty wants out of life and thats to be a winner every time , and with the experience of MF next to him can only be better for the club and its future so there is no question as to if he will sign a new contract but when he will sign one. Up the gate.

Your manager has done a fantastic job in his 1st year,no doubt you all hope it continues,i dont think you can judge him on this season a lot can happen between now and the end of the season. The pressures will be immense not only trying to stay top but also securing a play off place especially with maybe 6 or 7 clubs breathing down your neck including us,but you cant take it away from the lad hes done a good job

What he needs to do is sort out the discipline problem - we cannot afford anymore red cards. We'll become the laughing stock at this rate - don't want to feel like Ramsgate do all the time!!
