as there is nothing on here of great interest as people have said i was wondering what your idea of HDP would be if you could build it yourself .

I think i would go for a 6000 capacity to start with which would have a thousand seats , 500 each side of the pitch . Both ends would be covered with the goals not set to far out so you could make sure you let the opposing team keeper no that your there . I would have to have at least 6 flood lights to give perfect vision to the players on match day and also have at least 3 food bars spread around the ground . The players would walk onto the pitch from the Home end of the ground to the sound of ( the boys are back in town ) or what we already have .Most of all it would be a family orientated ground that was always full of Blues fans singing under the terraces , banging the drum and watching the best team around and thats are MARGATE.

It would need a large trophy room!

Ex-players have told me they liked coming onto the pitch through the tunnel of the old ground, so I would reintroduce that. Above the tunnel entrance I would have the words "This is Hartsdown" - a bit like Anfield, to show that HDP is a bit special - to give it an air of "fortress Margate".

Abdullah touchlines!

I would also have a 6000 capacity stadium, fully covered ground with a continous sweep, drainage systems and under soil heating. 3000 of the ground will be seated with 2000 seats in the main stand and 1000 in the opposite stand. A blue pitch surround like the one at Tottenham with the Margate logo on the ground outside the tunnel just like Tottenham. A club shop 10 times bigger then our current one situated outside the ground. Floodlights situated in all 4 corners. 2 catering outlets in the main stand the Hartsdown road end and 1 catering outlet for the Grand stand and the coffin end (2 for segregated matches). Also a trap door on the touchlines for really poor linos

6000 capacity to begin with but leave an option to enlarge if we progress through the pyamid.

Sorry Alex but bugga all like Spurs (remember we were Arsenals nursery team)

Catering facilities on all four sides(like we used to have at Hartsdown in the 1960s)

Club shop double the size and a social club big enough to hold 500 people at any event (for private hire 100 far too low at present)

Like the idea of the tunnel like before to give character to the ground.....it must NOT be soul less

Stands named after Alma Hall, Chris Kinner, Bob Griffiths and one other. The toilet block after Sandy Ezekiel...please do so and I will donate £2000 to the club and that is not joking.

Overall study (and it will only take a day or two not a costly report) all football grounds that are attracting decent crowds just above our level (no point comparing us with Stamford Bridge but maybe Yeovil)

Forget all about stadiums -just build a ground.

Keep it simple

Keep Hartsdown road end as it is.

Keep temporary stand-do we own or do we lease/rent this. ?

2007-Coffin End-Initially, put 2 temporary covered standing areas behind the goal-you can get these from the same people who supplied the 'seated stand' and are at quite a few grounds.

2007-Build dressing rooms in the corner of Coffin end -these would be joint dressing rooms for MFC and the 5-a-side pitches.

2008-Build a simple modern terrace behind coffin end for 1200 spectators- and move the previously erected 'temporary' terraces to the side.

2009-Build quality stand alonside where the current temp. dressing rooms are.Includes dressing rooms for exclusive use of MFC. plus bar, dance studio, office space, community gym, community creche for local residents.Lease the gym , creche and office space to fund some of the borrowings, rent out the dance studio to every dance group going in Thanet so it is in use 7 nights a week-.Get a licence to keep the bar open during times that gym and dance studio are in use to maximise use of bar and other catering facilities.Get a brewery part fund the build secured by bar takings

Simple on paper, but with a will to do it, it can be done -there is always a way, and there is always a funder- brewery would fund part of it,sports foundation a bit, council a bit with the community creche and gym.Just have to work hard and knock on plenty of doors to find the funders, but they are out there.

1st... Build 500 seater stand on the traditional main stand side. Right in the centre, that can easily be extended back and on both sides.

SECOND.. Terrace at Coffin End. Again which could be extended and covered.

THIRD Side Terrace opposite main stand which ideally would be large and covered.

FOURTH Extend the main stand to 1,000 seats.

I thought that was an excellent post Michael!

I know we would all like a nice new stadium to be able to watch our team play football in! But in reality is it all a pipe dream?

With so many delays and hopes being repeatedly raised and then quashed again! All we need is a ground which matches the standard of football on the pitch and one which will keep us covered from the elements a great deal more! Because standing down at the coffin end in driving wind and rain will start to take a negative effect on the body after time. lets just update the ground gradually as we hopefully start to climb back up the football pyramid to where we belong before it was all taken away from us due to the ground fiaso! We belong in the conference national!

but at least we get to watch our team at home which is more than some fans of teams can say!

I suggest we contact Manchester United - for those who haven't been to Old Trafford it is breathtaking how you can get 76000 people into the ground with not much space to expand outside yet they are going to build two more quadrants taking the capacity passed 80000!!!! Must be someone up there with one heck of a planning mind!!!
