Big club Oxford, tinpot Gravesend?

Recommended Posts

isnt it better to be tinpot and on the way up then Big and on the way down? I'm sure that means that soon enough they will be tinpot and we will be losing the "tinpot" status...

All that matters is on saturday we will be second and singing "thank you very much for 6 points Oxford" grin

Attack is the best form of defence.

As you'll find out when we overtake you in the table this weekend...

PS. I won't be here on Monday if we lose and you come back gloating... wink

Oxford's forum seems to be an exact copy of Exeter's forum. The only difference is replace the word 'Exeter' in 'Exeter are a big club' with the word 'Oxford'. We are, like them, up near the top on merit, just because we may not have a big fan base as they do doesn't mean we aren't as good as them.

Now C'Mon Fleet, let's show them what they're missing!!

Interesting comments from one of the Oxford United 'supporters' forums......

"Gravesend are obviously no slouches, and are now just two points behind the Us, whereas they were 15 points adrift when Oxford visited Northfleet. Fleet are fourth in the current form table, whereas Oxford are fourth from bottom, but that doesn't give an indication of United's recent improved performances. Fleet are unbeaten in their last seven games, including win at Grays Athletic (2-0) and Exeter City (3-1), neither of which Oxford were able to achieve. However, they are also hindered by the presence of Rob Quinn, the invisible midfielder, and Paul McCarthy, who actually had a decent game against the Us back in November. However, despite all evidence to the contrary, Rage Online is quietly confident that this is the game that will see the Yellows back to their best, and we think that United will win this one, maybe even by as much as 2-0, if there's a favourable wind and (less likely) a competent referee"

Not sure about the comments about either Quinn or McCarthy, certainly agree with the comments about the referee though!

Interestingly the website that the above came from, not surprisingly, predicts a home win for Oxford 2-0, another website however is predicting an away win to the 'Fleet. I know which one I'm hoping for.

Onwards and upwards.
