Charlton Ressies

Recommended Posts

I thought that our pitch appeared to have held up very well after Saturday's game. I wonder what was deemed wrong with it? A blade or two of grass out of place? For a league with so few matches to be played to start with, the postponement of games in the Premiership Reserve League seem to occur very easily. Although possibly an urban myth, someone mentioned that the postponement of the CAFC Reserves v West Ham Utd Reserves game due to have been played at Stonebridge Road on the 11th December, was because it clashed with the Hammers' Christmas party! Did anyone else hear this? Is it true? Will the game still take place or has it already but at a different venue? Is it ever intended to update the Fixture List in our programme given that the Watford game was to take place on the 12th but above the Fixtures it said it was to be played on the 13th? I make it that there are only 3 more home games scheduled. I'm not sure if we will actually see any of these. Only time will tell.

Actually it isn't crap, but Chelsea probably slip the FA a wedge not to have to comply.

I have it on good authority from a staunch Arsenal fan that all of the Reserve "home" games are played at Underhill. The Youth teams play at their training ground except for important FA Youth Cup matches, one of which has been played at the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal women's team play their "home" matches at Borehamwood.

Surely if a particular ground is designated as the place where home games are to be played that should be sufficient. I would like to see some evidence of the rule that one/two games have to be played where the First Team play. It obviously isn't being adhered to.

It is probably correct that the pitch got cut up during the game on Sunday as suggested by D H. I thought his attempt at sexist humour was rather naff though!
