Programme awards

Recommended Posts

Paula - Sorry to appear thick but I can't quite see what it is you are referring to, is it some kind of programme award as if so you have probably unwittingly let the cat out of the bag to Hoddesdon Town who watch/read this Forum like hawks but prefer to cowardly hide behind their computer screens and not post.

once again you bad mouth another club rhodes. Knowing Hoddesdon, they have probably picked up on this competition from the non-league daily site anyway.

I'm not bad mouthing Hoddesdon at all infact I have the utmost respect for the Lowfield Club and they know it. I'm just saying that they should come on here and banter a bit more that's all, I know Jonno comes on but that's once in a blue moon.

Lato - I don't think it is, no, why don't they come on then and prove me wrong, the same goes for all the other SSML Club's who haven't made their grand appearance as yet, if Haringey Borough can whilst inexplicably living in the dark ages North Korea and Cuba style then I'm sure every Club can.

Before anybody gets carried away with these programme awards, let me burst a bubble with a word of warning about the Non League Daily site.

When PBT won the SSML, Non League Daily got in contact and said they wanted to run feature articles on all the League winners that season and asked for an article from us (at fairly short notice, too). Having supplied what they wanted, we waited and waited for the article to appear. Meantime, NLD asked if they could have contact details of all our sponsors so that they could "tap in" to them and offer them national exposure. We refused on the basis that it would be bad publicity if we were seen to be passing on contact details of our sponsors to a third party. In turn, it may have affected our advertising revenue the following season as some sponsors may have decided to split their sponsorship budgets or not give us anything at all on the basis that they would get bigger exposure through the NLD than they would from our programme or advertising board. Because we didn't play ball in supplying sponsors details, they refused to publish the article on their website.

It seems to me that they have now come up with the ruse of holding a Programme Award in the hope that lots of clubs will send their programmes in and they will have lots of access to programme sponsors who they will then target as potential website sponsors. Submit programmes if you want, but don't be surprised if your commercial revenue drops next season.

Potters Bar Town - Lol, an interesting post and I think you have done a few Club's a favour here by warning them off, thanks.

Lato - I've said before that I have nothing at all against Potters Bar Town and it's him who seems to have a chip on his shoulder about me, I'm sure it's purely a Kentish Town thing as he always welcomed the nice hot cups of tea and buscuits that were waiting for him on cold Thursday evenings when he used to frequent Coles Park for Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League games. By the way I don't drive, that's very much the missus department.

3praise - I find this a peculiar post, you know perfectly well that I produce an 80 page programme for Kentish Town, Hello and OK magazine style, and we are running neck and neck with Hoddesdon Town for the programme of the year award. What's the Haringey programme like these days by the way as I haven't seen one for a while.

As stated before the haringey programme is to the point and tells you all you want/need to know. how a side in div 1 without a home ground to talk about developments etc can have an 80 page programme is laughable.

Or is it that you make the programme that big and glossy so KTFC have a trophy to celebrate with on the open top bus at the end of the season?

3praise - I don't think it's laughable at all, what I find laughable is your continued attempts to ridicule me on here which sadly aren't working. I'm not saying we will will the programme of the year award as Hoddesdon's weighty tome is probably the even money favourite however at least we have given them a run for their money. Besides Club's are obliged to produce a decent standard programme as per the SSML rule book and send it to Terry Gilmore following every home match for close inspection, there are certain Club's that are sailing very close to the wind in that department and one in particular, no names mentioned.

Rhodes, having heard rave reviews about the Haringey borough Program from certain bodies on this site, it again doesnt surprise me that you are making up something you have heard "through the grapevine" I.E when you "heard" PBT was going to resign even before he knew or had thought about it!! Which again adds weight to many peoples beliefs that most of the things you write on here are common lies and deceit!!

A Question you might be able to help me with Rhodes is what is reguarded as a "stadium" that would allow a team to earn promotion, is it just a regulated seating area, or does it just need to have a cover?
