How do you justify such a generalisation? Do you go to every game? I think most teams actually play good football. But you play in the intermediate becasue the teams, players and pitches are better? Get real mate!

Let me put it this way, EMFC. We beat, and totally outplayed Hullbridge in a game earlier this season. You have just been smashed 4-1 by them. Yet they are an average side (that Coach seems to be building nicely - by nicking some of our players! grin)

There are some very weak teams in the ESL now. I would say about half a dozen. These half a dozen sides would also struggle in Div 1 of the Intermediate league. When I used to play, that wasn't the case.

There weren't many games where you knew you were guaranteed 3 points. But now, if you're a half-decent side, you can guarantee at least 12-15 points before the season is started.

And the ESL was considered a good standard all round. Nowadays, there are only 3 or 4 good sides every year. But with the money that some clubs have got, there should be more than that.

In the Intermediate, almost every team tries to play good football. That's what I love about it. Its enjoyable to play in and to watch.

Much better than watching someone like Sawbo kick everything and everyone that moves and smack the ball long every opportunity they get. People have to pay to watch that sh.it! That might win games, but its not enjoyable to watch.

I prefer watching teams like Concord who try to play nice football, the way it should be played. And that, after all this waffle...is my point about the quality of football!

You been on the tablets mate? Playing a friendly is totally different then playing at our level week in week out. Yes they beat us but we have lost 7 players since the change of manager. We beat Sawbo earlier in the year and drew with Romford so on that basis we should be top 4 but we are not. You can't judge it by who beats who cos everyone can beat everyone. Its about consistency.

If you think you are that good step up. You have everything in place. But do you prefer to be where you are and win things everywhere against sub standard oppositon? You beat Hullbridge because it is like a cup final for you lot. Like when we drew with Harold wood in pre season. If you played every week you wouldn't pull it off. You'd be bottom 4.

Be like Beaumont and Apsa and step up and be counted!

Thanks BN2. I only did it to get a bite from a few people. Think I succeeded in that...I was just a bit bored at work yesterday!

Anyway, if we are allowed to step up, we will be good enough for top 6. And we will play the right way.

When Ensign play ESL teams in a "friendly", its not a friendly for either team. They know they're coming up against a decent side, why else would they put their strongest team out like they do each time.

CRFC your boys will be challenging for the title next season without a doubt, and playing the right way too. And with, as a wise manager said recently "with some bollox and some heart"!!!!!

Bollix! grinwe annihilated Aveley first team in a cup game but that doesn't mean we are a 4th placed team in the ryman 1(not at the mo though alk). You'll have to do it week in week out and then we might(i say might)be talking about it.the problem is unfortunately your application might be rejected...and groundsharing is another big problem.Shame, because i would have liked to see what you would have done playing every saturdays and tuesdays.Never mind beer2
