Benyon Booed????

Recommended Posts

What was all that about?

He was fantastic for us and never wanted to leave, it was the clubs fault he didn't stay!!!

I was a little dissapointed with that reaction especially as we were ready to clap him on ... he must of thought we were a right bunch of pricks, no wonder he went mad when he scored....

Well said mate, I must say that it was a great disappointment for all city fans for us to got gain the full 3 points, but if is wasn’t for Benyon then I would haply say that we would be well deep inside the relegation zone.

If Benyon was to come back to city, most of the fans would jump at the chance, as he is a quality player, and just because he doesn’t play for us any more, think that its acceptable, to disrespect him. Life’s a bitch, and we just have to live with it.

So if Benyon, you are reading this, thank you for your contributions to the club, and good luck in your football career for the future.

I didn't hear any booing when he came on but did when he scored after his over the top celebrations. Aren't players supposed to get booked for such celebrations.

Not so sure we need him back, as we have continued to score goals without him. Archer looked quality today.

We obviously couldn't afford to keep Benyon at the club. At the end of the day it's a choice of living within your means and still having a club or spending what you can't afford and end up like so many clubs in the conference year in and year out.

I also didn't hear any booing when he came on and don't think that his celebrations were anything to do with that. I thought that he was OTT when he scored considering that we gave him a chance of competitive first team football. Maybe he has a short memory.

I don't really blame the club for the fact that he left. Under his loan agreement we would have had to pay him well beyond the end of the season when the club would have had no income.

The thing that annoys me is the fact that Crawley are unable to pay their creditors and yet are able to continue as a full-time club and effectively take two of our better players on terms that we are unable to match. Comparing the size of the squads on the back of the programme was unbelievable. The whole situation is a joke.

Trust me he was booed, it was from a section behind the goal and it took the piss....

I totally agree about them signing players when they are in the [****!!****], takes the piss,.....

The amount we would have piad for him to stay is tiny in the scheme of things, I too hope he has a long career and hope he returns for us one day......

Couldn't agree more. Benyon was a quality player, who would always give 100%, even when things wern't going well. For a loan player, who shows that sort of commitment and dedication, who tried to stay at the club, it is a joke that we boo him.

And on the subject of his goal celebration, if i had just scored a last minute equaliser against a team whose fans had just booed me on,i would go mental aswell. Benyon is class.

I agree a total mockery, there should be a rule stopping teams from signing players in that sort of situation.

I heard that their Manager had a real bad attitude with the local press when they asked to interview him and moaned that all the press write about is Crawley's financial problems and never mention the football. This was before they had even asked a question!

Maybe he should cheer himself up and take his mind off their money problems by signing a couple of new players.
