Plenty of home fans will miss most of the 1st half. Will people turning up at 2.45 onwards get a discount? What about season ticket holders? I'd be really p*ssed off if I missed over half the 1st half & the winner was scored during that time. Presumably problem was not realized until Morecambe had set off or it would have been postponed. Club officials will need to dust off their trusty rhino hides in preparation for the stick they'll get later, whatever the outcome.

At Gravesend you get nothing for your money. They dont think of the fans down there - Remember Halifax fans.

It was a water logged pitch but the way the club of Gravensend behaved that day was a joke to this league.

You club is a joke and i really hope you go up then its the football league to worry about you and we will get a profesional club into the conf.

I guess the person that said that was not at the Halifax Game that day, your a joke of a club. Micky Mouse.

Did you expect the players to play on a pitch that was clearly unplayable?...are you still harping on about that anyway, get over it and let go (i don't seen any other Halifax Fan on here).... i dread to think what your blood pressure's like if you get this worked up over every issue?

Back to the subject, i understand why the club were desperate to get the game played, with Morecambe traveling down the day before. I also believe the club did everything with in their powers to inform as many people as possible that the time had been change, but it would be impossible to of let everyone know, so unfourtounatly the were going to be some people who missed part of the game.

Its just a worry that any fair weather fans who turned up late may be discouraged to return because of the early kick-off being so short noticed, and them missing 30 minutes of Football.

As it happened, the Club moved heaven & earth to see everyone was informed. Phone calls, emails, every conceivable media outlet contacted - &, contrary to my prediction, not one of the professional moaners amongst us complained, because they knew there was nothing else that could have been done. If I hadn't been so busy that I didn't have time to check my emails I would have known before I got my text from a Welling fan.

Welling fan - now the league Welling play in should be the standard your lot are at given the way the club is run.

One game is called off with you losing after your groundsman goes home
One game is started early without much notice.

No consideration to the away fans - totally shocking.

To Hxtownfan , u sad little git - take a look at the league table ... see your points tally - see the conf north beckoning . Whether we go up or not , we will miss u next year ... and no doubt so will Halifax , cos you're so disillusioned right now with footy in general you'll probably quit watching the beautiful game , as played by the fourth best team in the Conf right now , and take up knitting bootees for your ferret. Go and polish your whippet , and get him to take a leak over your bare feet whilst you inspect a plug socket with your knob .

Without much notice? Please tell me what you know about the situation and enlighten us all.

I was waiting for a bus, when one of the Directors drove passed and offered a lift, because the game was moved forward (having been out shopping all morning i wasn't aware of the change). I was pleasently surprised by the act of genurousity (spl.?), and feel sums up the effort the club put into making sure as many individual fans arrived at the game in time.

Yes it was impossible to tell everyone but the club did as much as was physicaly possible to do. You do not know anything so if you would like to hurry up and bugger off...it would be much appreciated.

And of course, one of our Directors deliberately vandalised the power cables in the morning, didnt he?? (Then again, perhaps it was you as it sounds you're sad enough to come all the way down here to do it). I can imagine the flak we'd be getting if this happened against your lot (Actually, we're already planning to switch to a 7pm kickoff against your lot at the last minute, but dont tell anyone, will you? arrr)

And furthermore , Hxtownfan , the incident happened at 0430 in the morning - did you know there were two four-thirties in the day ? Hard working lot down here , you know ... that's how come we're all so rich , and drink lager , not that namby pamby buxton spring water you get up in't third world , to paraphrase Monty Python's Meaning of Life .

PS Paraphrasers don't have to shout one one thousand , two two thousand , either . Down here , it's one one million , two two million , tha knows . See thee later !

Now now Hxtownfan...calm down.

Interesting though.......originally, I thought you just had the hump because the game was abandoned ( and abandoned quite rightly in my opinion !).

But you have griped on for so long now, I don't reckon you are a Halifax fan at all as you seem to have an irrational hatred of all things related to Gravesend.

I think that you are a Dartford fan really.....or maybe a Canvey fan, still smarting from a few seasons ago ?

Anyway, to try and draw a line under this one.......worry about your own town mate, don't slag off mine.

Run along now ( original line deleted so as not to get arrested by the PC police !! Free speech my a*se !).

Regards,

Can anyone tell me why the halifax game was called off yesterday?

No!

Surely not?

I wasn't aware that they had employed our (stay away) groundsman to work for them?

Strange thing isn't it when we had a couple of inches of snow and God knows how much rain over the past few days, but because it had TIME to drain away the pitch held up remarkably well!

I bet Hxtown fan is well upset and his whippet has had one Hell of a kicking!
