FA Trophy Final attendance

it be interesting to see that if Gravesend reach the FA Trophy Final how many GNFC wud be there to cheers them on? With an average home attendance of around what 1000-1200 every home game it wouldnt surprise me if we have over 10000+ fans turn up for the final.

 

my point is if we get 10 to the final why cant we get in excess of 3000+ every home game? Are we to say that the 900+ gnfc fans who turn up every home game are the true gnfc fans and the others r just glory hunters?

Of course we will get hangers on if we reach the final, it happens to every club in the country. The only true fan is the one who turns up hell or highwater whatever the occasion. We can only hope that a percentage of them decide to come to Stonebrigde road there after. Every team in the country has armchair fans, just look at all the Chelsae fans that have come out of the woodwork over the past couple of years.

More than that - how many went to the Villa , a tie we had only hoped to score a goal in , a draw was beyond most folk's wildest dreams , and absolutely no hope of winning whatsoever . This town never ceases to surprise me - and if we gain promotion to the league , I hope to be pleasantly surprised again .

I agree with Slarti, Villa was a one off(up to now), and the optimists were hoping for an upset!

A Final v Welling may be better played at Charlton for atmosphere and location.

villa was/is a good club. "new" supporters would come to a game against class opposition to see them rather than the fleet. welling would bring few "new" supporters. the ones that would come would be friends of regulars who normally reject offers to come to stonebridge on a normal saturday.

All speculation is just that - speculation , and from all of us . We won't know unless we get there - but we have a chance .

I would think 10,000+ if held at Wembley 2,000 anywhere else i thought we had a good 'following' when playing Canvey home & away in our championship season as well our KSC finals from that time just the prospect of seeing GNFC at Wembley would pull at peoples heart strings just for 1 game being as its a new stadium as well

it would only pull at the heart strings of fleet supporters, all of whom would be going anyway.
