Malbridge Swown?

As, according to the article, the deal is reliant on Swifts getting Planning Permission for Scraley Rd. it's strange that Maldon Council have no outstanding planning applications from them for the ground?

will be no merger...and i think bleated is the wrong word. my local team will be 3 miles away, ok not the 10 min walk it is now, but financially we will be secure, and STILL own our own ground(not bleating)....anyway, its not a done deal, and sure to be lots of crap written....

for a team with no home ground, its all a bit blase...i would think that they should get their own ground sorted out befor spending thousands on the wages each week...at least then the club is actually worth something...still , thats city life, live for the present

So what do I do with this haggis I bought on the spur of the moment before Burns night, then forgot I had? Boil it?

erm...its not YOUR ground

Correct Swift. Thats why we can afford a player budget and for you to speculate.

In actual fact if you looked further then the next bull rush you will discover that a sizeable number of conference south and conference grounds are owned by the local council.....so they should all get their grounds sorted out as well eh???

in my opinion yes...although i agree its contentious...just think if the club owns its own ground then it has more stability. as to your wage bill , couldnt give a monkeys, but if it all goes wrong and jeff closes his wallet...dont expect any sympathy

oh ok...jeff isnt putting anything in ...none so blind as those that cant see... as for our wheels coming off ..thought they had lately on the pitch...financially , what do you think the above posting about owning grounds was about?...anyway , we sell ours, buy something else , end up with millions in the bank luvverly jubberly

So it's the ultimate Boil in the Bag meal!

Getting back on track, Swifts have been a force to be reckoned with at this level for a few years haven't they? And they reached that position as a gradual process; as opposed to "parachuting" in a Conferance National Management Team & Players. So I think there is a difference. Please note; I have made no comment as to the rights & wrongs of either method!

Having said that I went to Maldons ground for our game in October '05 and thought it was pretty decent. Better than I recall Scraley Rd. Was I missing something?
