Quite right, it's ALL the Trust's fault. Good attitude. Let them pay for it all. Don't even make a contribution even if it's not the full amount. Not one percentage of the blame could be laid at your door. doh

Might as well throw my tuppence in........

"The Trust" (and therefore, the club) are the ones losing out. The Trust is paid out of other 'Fleet fans pockets. If you feel happy letting them pay for you, fine. If you feel a bit guilty of robbing the club of (much needed) financial support - then pay up.

no i am not a trust member and have no intention of being one.if i want to travel to away games then i make my own way,and i dont need to give my money to the club as i give my time working at home games.so if that makes me a prick then so be it,i've been called worse.

This isnt necessary, at least he had an intention of going away to support the team which is more than most and 1tooth does his bit on match days which again is more than most. So even if their words or action were in anyway thoughtless it doesnt warrant all this.

As far as I am concerned this is all so unessary, everyone gives or does what there commitments allow them to, or they feel they want to give or do.

Anyone who pays to get into our ground be it only 3 times a year, makes them a supporter in my eyes, although its only 3 times a year, they are still supporting the club by paying to enter the ground, even if its in a limited capacity. On a personal level I try to attend every home game and the occasional away game.

As I do not attend every away game does not make me or people like me NOT a true supporter.

The annoying ones to me are the ones who only turn up when your having a good cup run etc, maybe you lose and you never see them again.

As far as Fleet 4 ever goes, I agree that maybe he should at least offer, some sort of payment, but then again maybe he has, and his arrangements are between the person he has spoken to and him.

At least he owned up about him and his 3 mates, but what about the other 4 who have not owned up, or as far as anyone on here knows paid!!!!

Should it not be them you are putting down ???? or was it you ??

statement by the trust:

The following is a statement from the Fleet Trust, in response to recent discussions from supporters about coaches and away travel.

"It was great to be among the 210 who travelled to Oxford on Saturday, to support the boys. It was also good that we managed to get enough to run a coach, for the first time this season and I didn't have to drive! However we still had 8 no shows on the day and its cost the Trust and eventually the Club £96! Still I suppose that’s life!

There appears to be some misunderstanding from some individuals over Trust membership and the need for it on away travel. Perhaps we can clear this up:

“The Trust would love to have a coach at every away game for maximizing the support for the lads. When we have enough for a coach, there is no need for prior Trust membership, as the coach company provides personal and public Liability Insurance. When we do not have enough for a coach, the Trust has to provide insurance in order for members to drive the minibus. This insurance is annual and is not extra to Trust membership. If we were to insure on an individual day basis, it would not be of benefit to those who travel, compared to Trust membership of a minimum of £10 per year."

ALSO, ANYONE INTERESTED IN COACH TRAVEL TO NORTHWICH ON SATURDAY, THE COST WILL BE £20 RETURN. ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED, PLEASE CONTACT THE CLUB FOR DETAILS."

Just hold on here, ive being watching the fleet on and off for 45 years and in that time its been g&n offering entertainment of a football kind, which, if you wish, you go and pay to see.YOU choose when you go, whether it be once a year or once every five years, you dont have to support anyone, you may just fancy watching a game of football. So leave the casual footie fan alone.

Having travelled on the old 'Supporters Association' coaches, in the past, I have nothing but admiration for the people who run them. I can't think of many times that the price of travel was put up on the day because of 'no shows'.

I think a deposit should be taken at time of booking, then the extra cost will not be so great for those who do turn up to travel. The Trust shouldn't have to make a loss, and the regulars shouldn't have to bear the brunt either!
