Capitalism Rocks!!

This is all a very old well-trodden argument - 'show me a society where socialism/communism has been shown to work, well only if you show me one where the U.S. hasn't interfered so much that its been impossible for any of them to succeed. I'm not saying I want a communist society, you're right, the leaders often do turn out to be corrupt, thats a problem of any society that needs a leader. The people who can be bothered to put in the money/effort to get there are usually obsessed with power, and want as much of it as they can get. I'm sure if Colin Zeal could be bothered to become leader he might do a good job of it, but he's quite a well rounded bloke so he's unlikely to try.

"or name someone who has succeded in life by being a lazy git" I don't know if you could call him a success but George W. BUsh spent his uiniversity life drinking huge amounts doing very little work and generally being a 'c' grade student (his own admissions) and even these days has to have a nap in the middle of the day, and can only work till 4.30PM (his own admissions again) He was also given his job running a texas oil plant by his dad and this and his baseball teams both went disastrously wrong, due to his poor management (if you want more info on this, read the chapter entitled 'Dear George' in Michael Moore's 'stupid white men'

But like I say, it would be difficult to describe him as a success.

A plague on both your houses, I am going to go liberal on this one, enables me to say Thatcher was power-crazed loony, who did no favours to manufacturing or primary industry.

But Tony's a snide git trying to be all things to all people and being nothing to no-one. At least Thatch got stuff done, but made a couple of enemies on the way..

Don't get me on the subject of George Dubbya, him and his Enron cronies that run the states on an election where he get's voted in by the minority. Mind you they always had some counting issues at Enron.

Why go liberal?? You can sneer at both sides safe in the knowledge you'll never have to take responsibility for any decision ever, far easier.

Thatcher was the worst thing that ever happened to this country and anyone who thinks differnt is deluded.

She ruined so many people - Miners, Poll tax etc. She is the reason we have a town full of yuppies.

CZ is just trying to be controversial but thats the typical action of a middle class public schoolboy, I hate Thatcher with a passion and I'd be happy to take CZ up to a Yorkshire mining viliage where he can proclaim his love for the wicked witch to a intrested audience.

That geezer with the baseball bat who knocked her statue off should get a MBE

heheh .. ok the miners got done, but they were largely unproductive and produced ludicrously expensisve coal.. the poll tax didnt ruin anyone, was a much more democratic system than rates or 'property tax'... but of course poncing dole types.... sorry students expect everyone else to pay to clean their streets, clear up their litter, stop hoolies roughing them up, educate them and give em subsidised burgers at lunch time.. ahh bless em..
