Nigeria v Ghana Tonight at Brentford

Paula - Yes that's right love, if you could have made it I would have got some extra VIP tickets from 'the messiah' for you and you would have had the honour of meeting him in the flesh. Have you ever been to Griffin Park before, I don't think the old ground has ever witnessed a game and atmosphere like it, I literally thought that we would all be taking off Appollo 11 style and landing on the moon with 'the messiah' uttering those famous words this time rather than Neil Armstrong.

you mean going to a vast TV studio in Nevada. Funny that you liken Clement Temile and his alleged football coaching ability and status to the moon landings which may or may not have been hoaxed. Think about it rhodes!!!!!

Actually I was the biggest fan of the Appollo missions and Lunar landings in the late 60's and 70's and remember the Appollo 11 mission as if it were yesterday when Armstrong uttered those imortal words on 20 July 1969, a date etched on my memory Kentish Town v Brache Sparta 23 August 2006 style. I have heard that there are one or two people out there who think the moon landings were hoaxed however I'm surprised that you appear to be one of them, I credited you with a lot more sense than that.

there are more than one or two people who think that way.

Lato - I think you have been watching too many episodes of Startrek and find it difficult to separate reality from fiction. The Appollo 11 mission and Neil Armstrong setting foot on the moon on 20 July 1969 was as real as Lee Scott sending the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot on numerous occasions this season.

Horace - I've lost count Francis Lee style, I'll have to check my records and get back to you, admitedly he has missed a couple but at least that shows he's human and actually had blood running through his veins which surprises me.

I never doubted at the time that it was real, indeed didn't until this thread. Now that I hear that Rhodes is so certain, I'm beginning to believe the doubters!

This season, he scored a penalty on 13th January 2007. That's it.
HTFCew - Thanks for checking but I don't think that's right, what about his penalty against Whitewebbs for example in the Herts Senior Centenary Trophy and the one he slotted home as cool as a cucumber at Ampthill Town to clinch a last minute victory.

We don't have a Neil Scott registerred with the Club, Ampthill must have reported it wrongly to Jim Bean. Lee scored in the penalty shoot out against Whitewebbs, doesn't that count.

Surprised no one has commented on this point! gotcha2

Obviously the one saved at Hoddesdon doesn't count either...

Swayzo has scored 10 out of 11 from the spot this season for Ruislip Manor and I'm sure Hertfords Kevin Cooper and the guy at Edgware (is it Richard Morton Gavin?) have equally impressive penalty records. And no ones in shootouts don't count.

Lato is quite right, goals in shoot outs are never counted. There was once a big debate over it, mainly sparked by Gary Lineker who scored for England in a shoot out, if the goal went on his record he would have been joint top goalscorer for the England international side but it has never been reconised as so.

Sorry to come back to this thread folks however check out the link below, with the sound turned on, which finally dispels all doubts that it was a full house and like a Champions League, FA Cup and World Cup final all rolled into one. I trust this will finally put the subject to bed:
