together?rumours on the eastern counties forum...winning team to get promoted,2nd to 10th place going into this premier esl- ridgeons league and 11th to 16th place in a division 1.It would be interesting to hear from our league officials what is all about?

Sounds interesting, but there are 41 RL sides and 16 of us. Will there be three divisions then? Or have I missed something?

Now that would be interesting, even we had to give credit to soham town rangers last season in the vase, no other team in the esl came anywhere near the class shown by ridgeons league soham.

Coachie, I don't think that's exactly the thoughts on what people think will happen. I think it's more a case of moving the Essex side's to the ESL, as listed in my post on there, and bringing some up from Division One.

 

OR making the top teams from the ESL, Ridgeons and UCL into a Step 4 league. I think!

Ridgeons is a lot stronger than the ESL, but would love and early season trip to Walsham le Willows! Sounds a Lem place...

Waltham Abbey are mid-table and should stay up, as witham, ilford and flackwell heath are all awful.

So on that basis, we would claim: Hadleigh, Saffron Walden (boy would they be p!ssed off at having to move back to the 'Little League'), Harwich, Clacton, Stanway, Felixstowe and Halstead...23 clubs, plus White Ensign? Would be interesting..

i have been there with our u'16s in the fa youth cup last year.We won 3-2 against their u'18s with a last minute goal and really enjoyed the peaceful little village.Nice little ground and nice people as well.

What ever happened to Brightlingsea..Did they go bust totally, or does a minor club play on their old ground?

Went bust completely I think mate, there is an Essex Suffolk Border League side called Brightlingsea Regent but I don't think that hs anything to do with the old side.

I remember some Essex 'oligarch' coming in there about eight years ago, proclaiming the Conference in five years. I presume Barretts or Bairstow Eves got their clutches into the prime land that was their stadium?

Coup, They are still there playing in Div One of the Essex & Suffolk Border League having come up as Champions this season.They changed their name to Brightlingsea Regent at the start of last season but it was mistakenly reported as Brightlingsea Rangers in the Non-League Newsdesk Annual.
