Well i've read most of the posts and quite frankly in lots of respects you give a fair reflection but quite honestly how anyone can suggest giving Protheroe the arm band must be potty. He got warmer in the warm up than on the pitch. He strolled around most of the second half without anywhere near enough effort. I said at 4-15 we are so slap dash they are going to score soon. We deserved to lose quite frankly and wiothout DH, Pinns and Trott(yes Trott) we would have lost. Shoddy second half. Still to get the critics out (of me and the team) I'm going to give some points out( its that teacher in me)

Ref first- The best i've seen this season - missed one hand ball.

Let the game flow was sensible in the lead up to our third goal and reacted calmly over the penalty and Steve Clarridge over the shirt business. 7

Mitten-- Not sure, think their second was his fault and i really think the backs have no confidence in him. 4

Oatsy- So much better than before xmas and played well until the flue got him. 7

Donavan- Slow and only any good at heading today.5

Skinner-- Still good at passing but 'skinned' by their sub. 6

Trott-- Good oportunist goal and defended well. Also would have scored the final goal but for the hand ball. 7

Protheroe- Well, sorry but poor. Lazy and only real contribution was two good corners which lead to goals. 4

Abbot- Don't know what it is about this boy but he has the ability but either lacks the bottle or it's confidence, i'm not sure . Got subbed. 4

Saunders--Well off the mark today - looked ill like Oatsy!! 5

Danny Hockton--Yep, not a captain. Great goals all three of them. The second excellent from an acute angle. 8

Pinns-- I love - him great running and trying. With a whole team like him we'd be in at least the conf proper. 9

Jackson--Took a bad knock but played well and had 3 shots blocked in second half. 7

Smith-- generally solid as sub. 6

Standen --Showed some useful touches. 6

Interesting that we got two goals from corners.

I think i posted a couple of weeks ago that we should be making more from our corners.

Were we still employing the tactic of three on the line-Hockton,Pinns and Jay.

I thought that was a stupid tactic and a waste of an attacker, but if we were still doing it and got 2 goals from it, its obviously me whose stupid !!

There again, maybe we did do something different ?

We seem to be pressing the self destruct button at the moment. Two poor goals conceded last week and 3-1 up today only to draw. H&R are rampant at the moment and another big win for the Dons, who looked out of the running two weeks ago, Bromley also seem to have found their form. I'm not too confident about Tuesday either as I don't think our home form has been that impressive. If we are not careful this season could peter out to nothing. Where has all that confidence gone from a couple of weeks ago? Where were the players today who fought so well last week? Why are some players not being selected, particularly SCS? answers on a postcard PLEASE.

I heard that SCS was involved in a road crash the other day though with him being on the bench thankfully he was unscathed. With him on the bench it seems he was fit enough to play so he SHOULD be playing. Charlie is a good SECOND keeper these days & if SCS is available & fit then he should be out there giving the other players the confidence they need by having a sound keeper behind them. Trotty really does need to pick his best team rather than keep out the players for minor misdemeanours when they should be out there.I'm all for discipline but sometimes & in the case of Protheroe & SCS I don't think keeping them out the side is doing us any favours. The results are certainly showing that. One last point,Abbot(I'm not picking on him for the sake of it)must be dropped. He is reguarly underachieving. Any player who is on the bench could be doing what he's doing & could even improve on it. Trotty has to play the best players & those in form.If he keeps picking Abbot when he's not in form then I see it as him just trying to prove a point about the guy & its not on. End of!"

I agree Cookie - we're not at the start of the season, we should now be playing a team that will win the league. The season finishes in a little less than two months and we must stop messing around with the selections!!
