Billericay 3-1 Walton

Another hard earned win that lifts us into 5th...

Few injuries though, Matty Game was involved in a car accident during the week and has whiplash, Dorms and Whelps were both taken off with knocks, though hopefully neither too serious...

Team only change Hodges in for Game

Played ok first half, final ball a little wayward at times. Flack opened scoring just before half time, firing in the rebound after keeper saves from Hodges. Minutes after half time Flack scores a second after Burbridge held ball up well.

Third goal, powerful header from Burbs, Flack tried to poach his hat-trick but the ball was already over the line. Whelps went off, and we had to re-organise, sloppy defending let them grab a consolation but they didn't look as though they believed they could get anything from the game.

Good to meet Clydefan and Mrs, hope you enjoyed your visit. Also understand we had a visit from Norway...

McSweeney Heffer Blewitt Kerrigan

Flack Burbridge

Swaine for Whelps

Not a spectacular win, but a win nonetheless. Flack did well, hes now our top scorer on 13. Was a shame to concede the goal, but we always looked like winning the game. We didnt really get out of second gear, but we didnt have to. Up to 5th on goal difference now.

Its great fun watching us at the moment, unbeaten in 9, three wins in a row, and 35 points from 45 at home, conceded only a miserly 5 goals in the process (4 of those coming in wins for us).

Weve got some tricky away ties between now and the end of the season (9 of our 15 remaining games are away), including Heybridge, AFCW, Margate, Hampton and Bromley. But were doing well right now, and im sure the boys believe they can win any game.

But for today, another well deserved win, 3 points in the bag. Well done boys.

Yep another good 3 points, there the sort of teams you can drop points against, for me Flack was MOM but he was lucky not to get sent off for stamping on there No 3 but the linesman was so weak and after discusson with the ref he didn't even get a yellow for it !!, now on to a another tricky game away against the swifts but on current form hopefully another win will be on the cards.

I thought all the officials were weak yesterday...weak to the point of "what are they doing there?" - wouldn't of missed 'em if they were somewhere else.

Not the best game but 3 points all the same. You can't have 90 minutes of dominating, classic Blues footie every weekend, now can you. Even the players thought they played well under the standard they had set recently.

Well we achieved what we set out to do which was gain 3 points and keep the momentum going.

I had no doubts that we would win this game but Walton were a very different team to the one that faced us only a few weeks ago. They seemed hungrier and more organised and I for one am not looking forward to the prospect of having to play them on a Tuesday night at the back end of the season.

As for our performance, it wasn't great but then it didn't have to be. We never really got out of 3rd gear and we weren't helped by having to change the team because of Gamo's absence. I feel we certainly missed his energy in midfield. Then we had to re-shuffle further with Wheldale's injury (lets hope that neither will be out for long) and much of the momentum was lost.

The first and last 20 mins of game were pretty poor but we did the damage in the period in between and we scored goals at the right times.

Nice to see Flacky rewarded for his efforts - he has been excellent over the past few weeks and his goals may prove crucial.

Now, there has been a lot of talk about the importance of the up and coming away games we have (Heybridge next week then Margate and Wimbledon in a week). This is my plea to all supporters who might be 'thinking' of going to these games - get down there and support your team! There are coaches running to Wimbledon and Margate so lets make sure we fill them. The lads are going to need as much support as possible over the coming weeks - lets make sure we're not the ones found wanting.

Yep, top effort and one that should be applauded.

Grant and Nobby was mentioning the supporters behind the goal, home and away and said that the teams performance should also be credited to the supporters as well as the players and encouraged all of us to keep it up.

Personally, I would say the the AFC Wombles game is as every much as improtant as the Margate game and we should get to both games "mob handed". I know the chairman is subbing the Margate coach but effort is required for the AFC game as well...£10 for a seat is cheap for the trip. lets see if we can get two coaches along for this one as well!!!

Another point about Saturday is meeting Clydefan. It was great to meet him and his wife and he did say that he'll be back in September / October next season.

Well done lads! Another robust display and as has been mentioned already, Gamo missing, and also losing Dorms and Whelps during shows a good maturity of this team. As Luf Paul mentioned Walton were a completely different side...Did any of the starting 11 at Walton on that Tuesday play on Sat! They were difficult to break down, but you sort of knew just getting the first would knock them. I guess the only downside was the sloppy nature of conceeding, however, daft as it may sound it may just benefit us. Hopefully they will learn that being casual can be damaging for future. But, those lads ALL of them are playing with confidence and a whole lotta heart !

Next, was good to meet Clyde and wife. Hope you enjoyed yourselves, and an interesting story about how you came to stumble on us! Good on yer fella, and yer old man !! Trust you enjoyed the rest of your weekend too.

Finally, (which has already been confirmed) i thought i had heard at halftime from Gazz over the PA about a free bus to Margate...That is a very nice gesture, and again daft as it may sound is much more appreciated than if we had free coaches etc each away game, as then you would get too used to it. Thanks TC it is appreciated by The Blue Army! And i trust we will not let the team down with our support.

And very lastly !! I also hear on the grapevine a little birdie is supplying copious free beer for the trip down!! We is gonna have a "Jolly Boys outing to Margate" !! yay

And seeing as i am supersticious...I will say it again...Our lads are playing those boxes and wearing teams down! smile
