Good suggestion MWS. That would be perfect for me too.

Thanks Mark. I've already taken it off but thanks for the reminder. I'll list it again if I can get along to the game v Morcambe. In addition, look out for a signed pair of Paul Bastock gloves I'll be listing shortly.

Any Enfield players in the team?

This was just an observation Laz. I’m not trying to score points but for the record Enfield Town have got three current players who have gained international experience with Colombia, Republic of Ireland and England!

The 18 St Albans City fans who came to Goldsdown Road in the FA Cup Preliminary Round last season might remember seeing our Colombian midfield maestro, Steve Valandia in action? I seem to remember him playing in the replay too.

He scored an absolutely stunning 35 yard goal at second placed Harlow two weeks ago. In twenty-five years watching the game, it's probably the finest strike of the ball I've ever seen!

Hopefully he'll have a quiet game on Saturday.

No worries there Yellow. The lads have been off form since the Harlow game. Having said that we will raise our game v The Islanders - see you there!

Not a good result against Potters Bar on Saturday although we nearly came unstuck there.

Sorry, I will refrain from talking about pub league football on this forum!!!

I read the book MWS. I would have loved to see the play. Robin Friday sounded like a genius with a brilliant sence of humour. It was such a sad story in the end. I see the book is available in paperback now. It's well worth getting a copy.

Absolutely agree - a great book and a great character. I saw "the" Tranmere goal as a starry eyed 12-year old and I am sure my memory of it has been enhanced over time as well. I remember being gutted when he was sold to Cardiff, never really knowing what was going on behind the scenes. Years later he was of course voted Reading's player of the century. I'm glad I had the chance to see him play - I've seen many excellent players since but none as great as RF. Clearly a waste of talent but then I'm sure that if had played with discipline he probably wouldn't have been so good. For those who never knew him, think of Stan Bowles magnified a thousand times and you have Robin Friday!
