Match Thread vs Worthing

And off the bottom of the table as well. Draw was a fair result in my opinion. Thought we had the better of the first-half and they had the better of the second.

When they scored you could see that heads went down so that last gasp Steve Daly header will work wonders for the players confidence. Great free-kick by Jamie Jackson's for Daly's equaliser as well.

MOM was John Mills by a mile for me. Made one mistake all game and was outstanding.

i think slough were slightly unlucky not to win as we had a lot of the ball but just couldnt get the chances we needed

not sure if Steve Daly got the last touch but who cares

i agree mills done really well and also jackson was brilliant in goal

well done to all the lads and the fans for backing the team once again

There is no way that the goal can be credited to Daly. The last touch was clearly off the Worthing player (number 2?) Still, no cause for complaint, got us a well-deserved point, the first point I have seen us gain since October 14th against Billericay!

Good game - in the end we're glad for a point, which I think was well deserved, but we really could have won (but then so could Worthing). It was pretty end to end in the first half with Worthing having a couple of really good chances.

It's good to see the team looking more confident and creating chances. Jon Mills was outstanding and Symon James had a good game on the right wing from where he put in a few good crosses. Jamie Jackson looks very solid in goal - I hope we can hold on to him.

The equaliser looked very much like an own goal from either the no.6 or no.10 for Worthing, from a very good free-kick delivery from Jackson on the half-way line - virtually the last kick of the game. It was no less than we deserved and it was great to see the players' reaction at the end. Nice to be off the bottom too, so well done boys.

must agree that the draw was probably a fair result, we definately didnt deserve to lose. to get off the bottom is great too. its a good showing from a team that is starting to gel now, and is capable of troubling the other teams in the lower ends of the table.

well done to the players for not giving up, and to the fans who made the noise!

I haven't posted on here for ages but having missed the Heybridge game last weekend this was the first time I've seen the lads get anything from a match since Worthing last time out. I have travelled to Carshalton, Leyton and Horsham (twice) in the last month, and the spirit both behind the goal and on the pitch has been quite unbelieveable. Today the lads once again gave their all for 90 minutes and, despite not having the best covering conditions, the fans did their bit as well. It was fantastic to see the players at the end of the game, especially Matty, Jamie, Daly and Millsy, when they came to salute the crowd. And of course Wilko whose wait to be knighted must surely be coming to an end!!! wink For me John Mills was far and away man of the match but every single player who pulled on that kit today, and for the last few matches, deserves praise for an excellent effort and will to win for this football club. Even the loan players have done their bit which is a credit to them. Personally if we do end up getting relegated this season which, lets be honest, is the very unfortunate likelihood, I can honestly say that if the lads keep performing as they have done I will have nothing but pride for each and every single one of them. The guys that are here now are showing a desire to win that we didn't have earlier in the season from certain higher profile players and personally I'd rather watch this team win, lose or draw than the shower of sh*t we were subjected to earlier on in the season. UP THE REBELS!!!!!

Well deserved point, and extremely good to get the last second equalizer, especially with the way our luck has been going with goals against us.

I was standing near the Worthing manager all game, and in the first half we thought he was going to have a heart attack. He also said that he was going to report the gate man for insobordination for not knowing who he was, apparently he just tried to walk straight in expecting everone to know who he was.

Good free kick by Jacko, but definately touched on the way in.

We are now off the bottom, let's hope it stays that way, and here's to a good result on Tuesday.

must also comment on the passion showed by the players, especially after the game. seeing the players punch the air with joy, hugging each other after working so hard to get that deserved point was amazing, playing for the shirt and the fans. its great to see such passion from a team who have been pulled together over the last month or so.

wish i could make the walton game next week but i am also going to twickenham next saturday! should be there on tuesday to support the lads though.

UP THE REBELS!
