Anything of interest re:MFC in the local paper.

Been a bit of a slow news week/month.

I wonder if RT made any comments of interest post the Hampton match or pre-Harrow.

I guess Sesay and Yiga's loans are over-how exciting is that !!

Hi Michael, It's mainly about our defence taking on Steve Claridge and the possibility of Pat not being fit with a tweaked hamstring with either Jay or James Donavon taking his place. Also Sesay's loan spell at Walton has been cut short and he's still being linked to league clubs but Trott wants to see him buckle down at Margate but then goes on to say he's got to be in a settled side to be able to make a move.Trotty also says he expects more from Donavon. Only a small article on the Gate really.

Personally I would like to see Sesay make a go of it here.

RT does not seem to have much 'luck' with signing players does he.

No good signing people for the sake of it, but i think ever since November RT was 'after' a third striker.

In fairness, this season, where there has been the occasional signing-Jay and PS-we have quality over quantity

Hopefully its not a case of management inexperience letting us down here, and missing out on other players

Of course it could all be 'spin' anyway;and there has never been any intention to sign a couple of more players.

Just enough hints to keep us customers salivating.

In fairness, not much wrong with the team we've got anyway, but maybe a slight 'freshen up'could refresh things.

Look what a difference Protheroe made to our fortunes when he came in last season

Sorry for being such an old cynic.

Up the 'Gate

I sussed that out Alan. Hence no reply to him. Just best to ignore him though whatever it is he wishes to bait me on its nice that he congratulates me on it & that he cares enough to do so! l.o.l.

I don't think you are far out with that comment Michael! However news reached me today that MAY show it to be the opposite! Not with these two guys but with another subsequent addition, unnamed to me.We will have to wait & see on that.
To be fair Trotty has done wonders I feel in getting this quality side together so I don't see how you can say he hasn't always been getting his man. Moneys tight & thats probably the reason, more than anything as to why we aren't getting players in. That moreso than Trottys lack of persuasion. Just my opinion of course!

Following the aims set out by Keith on the day of Robins appointment there was a little concern that he would be out the door following the cup defeats.

However the squad he has assembled play attractive football usually as a unit with no "glory boys" doing just enough. Think we saw in the second half at Horsham and again at Hampton that there is a passion in their play.

It may just be that'comeback ' last weekend will deservedly win the title on goal difference.

We are not going to win every game, but must never give up fighting( taken too literally last week ).

We can't afford any more Boreham Wood type capitulations

When it comes to signing new players we have a couple of problems.

1) Are they going to be a bench warmer? In which case what quality player would go to any club in the Ryman just to sit on the bench(except for money and then no thanks)

2) If they are not going to sit on the bench they they must at least be of Conference standard to replace any of the present squad.

Last month I am sure Trotty went to scout a player and thier club immediatley extended thier contract. What chance did we have then. By signing an extended contract this player just showed a lack of ambition so would you want them anyway.

If and when we do strenghten the squad it must be to improve the standard of players and, any new players must stay with us next season (if more than satisfactory this season).
