Enfield Town started strongly, and Madden made an excellent save from Dalley who had burst through the middle. Urchins took control and dominated the rest of the half. Sadler went close with a first time shot from a Lee pass, and the opening goal came shortly after the referee missed an incident on the half way line when Luke Stanley was kicked as he was getting up after a tackle. This backfired on Enfield Town as the ball was played back to Stanley and then to Foyewa, who set off on a long run, coming in from the right and powering in a shot which keeper Byford saved well. Amos followed up and Byford again made a good save, the ball running out to AINSLEY GASPER who lobbed it into the net.

A series of corners followed, all taken by Collins, and the second goal came when the ball was played in from the left and DAVE SADLER poked it home. Town pulled one back shortly after the interval when ADAM WILLIAMS prodded the ball home from a left wing centre, and Madden made a good save from Mitchell soon afterwards. Urchins regained control and Sadler and Gasper both went close. Highlight of the half came in the last few minutes when Gasper tried a long shot from near the half way line, the ball beating the keeper and skimming the post. A good all round performance, with Billy Crowther and Tony Vincent both looking composed in defence, whilst Luke Stanley and Ryan Lee worked hard in midfield.

And a special word for the Eastside who completely drowned out the Riverside with a non stop flow of chanting and encouragement, which left the visitors totally bewielded.
