Reserves V Maidenhead

WEFC went to Maidenhead last night for a Capital League game and suffered a heavy 5 - 0 defeat.

The evening started badly when John Tanfield withdrew during the warm up and Matt Robertson was drafted in for his debut. After a slow start, WEFC seemed to have weathered the early storm but then conceded two poor goals in ten minutes to go in 2 - 0 down at half time.

Terry O'Connor was the victim of a heavy challenge and had to be replaced after 30 minutes.

At half time Tom Shone also had to be replaced after catching an accidental arm in the face which required a hospital visit.

In the first minute of the second half an unlucky own goal effectively ended the contest, and Maidenhead dominated play and went on to score two more. Adam Spellman also picked up an injury and handed a debut after 75 minutes to Chris Talbot.

Omar Maqsood and Stuart Tanfield impressed in midfield, but WEFC never really looked like scoring, and overall it was a poor performance.

The depleted reserve side will visit Northwood next week.
