Our game with Hayes was a non contest, we had SEVEN changes from saturday, whereas they only had 2 changes from their win on Sat in the conf South. We started well enough, but once we went a couple of goals down early it was all over.

No dobut the managers rested the players as we have a SSML cup QF on Thursday at home to Tring, and will be hoping we can progress in that, rather then the middx which in theory we were not going to win.

No excuses Paula, we 'rested SEVEN players from Saturday, and Hayes rested TWO, they are THREE divs above us, and the Middx senior cup is their ONLY chance of any silverware this season.

We are playing again on Thursday in the league cup qf and have another league cup qf as well, both of which offer us a real chance of silverware. No dobut the team will be a lot stronger for the game on Thursday. Once I saw our lineup I knew we would not win, and several people even wanted their money back!!!

Same happened with us in our qurter final last night, Gavin. We rested all bar two first teamers (Richard Hayward & James Dickie) and, apart from a couple of first team bench warmers (Carl Ashton & Curtis Johnson) we fielded a reserve side against Northwood's full first team. We lost 2-0, the second being a last minute penalty, but made up for it tonight with a 5-2 win at Bishops Stortford that has put is in yet another cup final. In fact, I can't remember the last season that we didn't make at least one final.

Might pop over and see your game on Thursday, Gav. Might even pop on over to Brimsdown v The Nomads tomorrow. Might be a good laugh in the current climate although there are one or two other games I'm thinking of attending too.

I bet you won't, there will be a lynching party waiting for you Alfie Noakes style as Gregg and Frank are particularly unhappy about the nonsense you have been coming out with of late about our Club.

That sounds like a threat to me.

Or perhaps you could talk to him in a decent manner and put him right on his misconceptions of your club. Threats are not nice Rhodes and certainly have no part in our level of non league football.

PBT, well done on that final. What cup is that??

We're only left in the Thameside Trophy (you're not in that one are you) and we'll probably bow out of that one shortly smile

We thought we'd go for the play offs in the league instead wink we have no chance of winning it - already sewn up by Hornchurch.

What about a night out then PBT - Essex Senior Cup final at Roots Hall. Go support Hornchurch?? (sorry has to be done). You know you want to wink

Did Bishops Stortford put out a strong side? I would have thought they would rest players because of the game against Stevenage tonight (Wednesday) correct me if I am wrong, no offence to your brilliant result.

It's one of about half a dozen games I'm considering going to tonight. It wasn't very high up on my shortlist but it's just moved up a couple of places in view of your childish post, Rhodes. As we've already established the "Alfie Noakes style lynching party" was nothing more than a figment of your imagination. Therefore, if I can expect the same tonight there is obviously nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure what you consider to be "nonsense about your club of late". I'm merely speculating as to what the suitable punishments should be for the deceitfulness that is there for all of us to see in black and white. If you want to see what nonsense really is, the latest Quote of the Month poll will be on this forum tomorrow. Enjoy!

It's the Herts Charity Cup, Paula. We will meet either Hemel Hempstead Town or Hitchin Town in the Final at Letchworth.

I do usually try and get to the Essex Senior Cup Final when I can. I can usually blag a seat in the directors box from someone, somewhere. Haven't been for a couple of years now. Last one, I think, was when Canvey Reserves beat Dagenham's youth team 6-0. I remember the boardroom hospitality being vitually non-existant at half time and the Essex FA doing their pieces over it!

The Stortford website calls it a mixture of squad players and reserves, so plenty of Conference experience in there. Could have gone either way in the ninety minutes but we overpowered them in extra time.

Great win for us last night!

Went 1-0 down in the first half, but after a few subs in the second half (Lee Mitchell in particular) we dominated and won convincingly through an own goal, a neat finish by lee mitchell and a pen by myself after a foul on Adam Norman!

Edgware or Tring away now in the semi...bring it on

My first choice match for tonight (Brentwood Town v London APSA) has just bitten the dust so Brimsdown v Nomads is now up to third in the pecking order, behind the games at Stevenage Borough & VCD Athletic. So, still a chance of Brimsdown earning an extra few bob on the gate and at the bar tonight!

Do you want me to arrange for a brown envelope with your name on it to be left on the turnstile just incase you can get there, also I'm sure our Chairman will take great pleasure in buying you a couple of pints in the bar at the interval and afterwards so you wouldn't need to dip your hand into your pocket at all. I'll be leaving in a minute so you can text me if you decide to come.

Does that mean you fancy Tring to beat us?

I must admit we could do without playing on Thursday and playing Thursday next week as well. Next week will be a bigger test, because the managers cant rest a lot of players for the league match at home to Kingsbury. No doubt he will field a less then full strentgh side v Aston clinton at home on the Thursday.
