Claridge (again)

Still a tricky customer for any defender though Michael, even at his age. Our defenders will have to be sharp on Saturday to deal with him.

Played again for Worthing tonight. There must be some sort of attraction for Ryman league clubs with him these days. Doing the rounds it seems. Any guesses as to who's after Harrow? Wont be us thats for sure!

Irritates me and I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is. I don't see any particular additional threat from him compared to Onochie and Bent.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there slightly different rules for Non-League?? Such as the fact that we do not have transfer windows?

Oh, and well done Rob for posting a sensible question! We'll make a Blue out of you yet... wink

I think if Claridge does play for Harrow on saturday, he is then not allowed to play for anyone else for at least a month.

There again, as per that West Ham/Liverpool dude, i guess European employment law would over-rule that anyway

If that is the way it is then having played for Worthing last night Michael, wouldnt that rule him out of playing for Harrow on Saturday?

Again, i think its a watered down version of the Marshmallow bloke at West Ham- only a certain number of clubs in x days allowed.

But i'm probably completely wrong.

Just seem to remember something like that coming up about a year ago

I think this clears things up a bit, taken from the Ryman forum:

The FA has been given written dispensation from FIFA not to apply certain rules to clubs below a particular level (Conference?). This includes:

- the main transfer windows (although there is a deadline near the end of the season)

- when you can get International Clearance certificates

- playing for more than two clubs in a season

Thank you for that TBM! Rob Butler should be taking notes from you on how to be a useful member of society!!!(Although I do think he is getting better!)
