Kentish Town to leave the SSML ??

Recommended Posts

The truth is we don't know the real truth. It beggars belief that the SSML agreed to this groundshare without having a record of a formal agreement. Taken to its nth degree it could be said that A.N.Other F.C. will be groundsharing at the new Wembley next year. Would they be prepared to accept that?(or would they need a wriitten agreement). The catalyst for this balls up seems to have been the non-abandonded game at the end of December when it rained in "biblical proportions" - ther may have been ducks on the pitch then but are they vultures I can see circling above? Quite where we go from here, who knows, but I believe the SSML need to hold their hands up as well.

3praise - So you have revealed yourself at last if you pardon the expression, where have you been hiding. I see that your lord and master has made a dramatic appearance on the Forum today, I like his name however he has left Ceausescu and Amin out which is very disappointing.

So let us in on who you think he is then, Rhodes!

Horace - I meant that 3praise has been conspicuous by his absence of late, I still don't know who he is but rest assured I will find out soon, not that I'm bothered.

SteveR - Sorry I've lost you somewhere and Potters Bar Town for that matter, if it's the groundshare agreement at Claremont Road you're going on about then as far as I'm aware there is one firmly in place, why don't you ask your Secretary Graham when you see him next. How did you get on against Hillingdon Borough last night by the way.

It's interesting how I was asked by our secretary to post the following on our messageboard. "...it has been confirmed that we are helping out Kentish Town in hosting games for them as and when we can, but this is not expected to be on a regular basis." That does not suggest to me that there is a formal groundshare agreement, just an agreement that we'll help you out as and when we are able. I'm sure that if there was a formal agreement I would have been asked to have publicise it on our website.

As for last night, we beat Hillingdon 4-2 despite being 1-0 down and down to ten men after 47 minutes.

Shame the league don't know about it then:

" It was also queried whether or not there was a written agreement in existence between Hendon FC and Kentish Town FC. Mr Mitchell stated that there was no such record on file with the League. "

Well as I said as far as I am aware there is a groundshare agreement in place however I haven't got a copy myself or seen it in black and white. Negotiations seemed to be all over bar the shouting before I joined the Club in July however when the season got under way the goalposts appeared to have been moved and we ended up playing home games at places like Wembley FC and Wingate and Finchley and paying through the nose for the privilege although we won those two games by an aggregate of 12-2 so I suppose we can't complain.

Surely as club secretary you would know for sure one way or the other? There was never any danger of us (Hendon) going into a formal groundshare agreement for Claremont Road as at the beginning of the season we had no idea ourselves whether we'd be able to play there for the whole season. Worth bearing in mind that we thought we'd played our last game there back in April 2006.

Difference is, we've already got a groundshare agreement in place for when the sale of Claremont Road does go through.

With respect to Silver Jubilee Park, we need to go somewhere that'll have a Ryman Premier grading.

No respect required. Although suprisingly rural I would imagine Silver Jubilee Park falls slightly short of that grading

In response to HTFCew, the plan is to be there but for one reason and another I have only managed away at BBV&EFC so far this year
