Stotfold trying to move sideways to SSMFL

Recommended Posts

Apparently UCL Premier Division side Stotfold have applied to join the SSMFL Premier division for next season, but the UCL have refused to release them. As they are in line for relegation to UCL Div 1, a cynic would say that they are looking to avoid relegation to Step 6. The matter has now gone to the FA. Views anyone?

'kin cheek. If the SSML offered them Div One we must assume they would decline. They've got more front than Southend.

80, not bad, that would make them one of the best supported in the SSML. Where is Stofold? maybe they think the SSML is an easier divison then the UCL and that they would be able to have a much better season. It does not always work out that way though.

If we go up this season, then next season I would pop along to see Kingsbury LT play at home in midweek, if Edgware did not have a game, to see some SSML football

Don't know what you're going to do when your dreams don't come true, Gavin!

..

What's that supposed to mean Horace? you got something to say, then SAY IT!!! I have heard all the rumors re our ground and promotion to the Istmian league, as no doubt you have. It comes to something when a fellow club are hoping that we wont be allowed promotion because of our ground, rather then being able to beat us and win promotion themselves.

The rumours are just that RUMOURS, and if we dont go up, it wont be my 'dream not coming true' we will just get on with it.

At this stage, Gavin, I was suggesting that you hadn't got the league wrapped up just yet! .

A win for you tomorrow and Sat, and defeat for us on Sat, would put you just 5pts behind us. We have St mags away on Sat, we should get a result, but as it will be the first league match I will have missed this season the boys will find it tough lol.

Stotfold play just up the road from us at Langford, They have a new(ish) manager Ian Allinson, who has been around and been relatively successful. A couple of players who have played for us this season, are now in their starting line up. We play them fairly regularly in various Beds FA competitions, and they beat us 5-4 in the Beds Senior Cup in November. Allinson will certainly attract new players and will without doubt improve their chances of staying up.

It's interesting that Stotfold have had their beady eye on the SSML for a long time and have now got their wish
