Anything is possible?

When looking at the leagues after saturdays game i noticed that in the unibond league the team in the relegation playoff spot has played 30 games and is only on 24 points. given that we have played 8 or 9 games lees than this and that we still have to play all the sides around us i think we could still stay up if we get a little run of results going.

What do you guys reckon!

liking the optimism mark, but it will take a lot for us to reach the edge of the relegation zone...obviously I am hopeful that we wont finish bottom of the league, but I cant realistically see us getting out of trouble.

all we can do is get behind the team and hope for the best. if some of the behind the goal noise from saturday can be recreated at home that would be a great start.

hoping to get to my first game since boxing day on saturday!

Given that after Tuesdays game at Horsham our next 5 games are:

Sat Feb 3 Worthing

Tue Feb 6 East Thurrock United

Sat Feb 10 Walton & Hersham

Sat Feb 17 Hendon

Sat Feb 24 East Thurrock United

I'd like to think we can pick up a few points.

Having said that, Hendon are second in the form table only behind Hampton at the moment, so that would be a tough match anyway, but there should certainly be some good performances in those matches hopefully.

Hopefully the weather will hold out and we'll get the home matches played as well so we can build on the morale boosting win on Saturday.

We rode our luck at times in the first half at Heybridge, luck that has deserted us all season. Soon as we got 2 goals you could see the confidence coming back to the players, with the noise level and singing from the fans relentless from then on. If we can keep that confidence then we have a chance of not getting relegated, but it's a tall order. Keeping a clean sheet at Horsham for at least half an hour will be crucial for that confidence not to be shattered again.

Thought Steve Hale really made a nuisance of himself and helped unsettle the Heybridge defence. Think he will be key to our survival, helping to make chances for Matty Miller and Terry Davies.

Spot on Warren. All we can do as supporters is continue the encouragement in the form it has been for the last few games regardless of results and the position in the matches as they are being played. If we can keep our heads up for the rest of the season it will help the players and who knows what results we might be able to pull off.

Surely the players and supporters have to believe that we CAN do it, going into games expecting to lose will only have one outcome. Confidence should be improved after Saturday. I know it will be a tough fight but we have to be right behind them and encourage them every step of the way. We are NOT down until it is mathematically impossible to stay up. Be optimistic, have faith and if we do go down we know we all gave it our best shot.

I agree, if we're going down, we do it fighting, and I believe we currently have the players that will do that.

An example of this was that they were still fighting in the last five minutes of a match we were losing 5-0. Lot's of other players heads would have gone ages before that.

100% for the rest of the season, whatever happens will do me.

Also worth noting that in the past few seasons many teams have had a ‘reprieve’. Hendon finished 4th from bottom last season with a worse record than Northwood in the Southern, but stayed in the Ryman Prem because of the problems with Canvey. I think also last season, or the season before none of the teams in the Conference that finished in the bottom 3 got relegated because of problems with other clubs.

I know were not exactly in the best position ourselves, but it’s important to keep on fighting to the end.

Confidence is a key factor ,there is nothing better than a win especially in the manner that the boys demonstrated on Saturday at Heybridge. The support and encouragement behind the team on Saturday was great but we need to continue that tomorrow at Horsham. We have to beleive we can pick up points here and there and then who knows what might happen.Come on you Rebels.
