The right flank - Who would you have ?

Ah, my good friends, I have to say when Abbo is on his game he is awesome - if only Trotty could find the magic to gee him up! Dolly's name has also had an outing in these threads and when he gets involved we look like scoring a lot of goals.

So, without playing flash the cash for a new player, Abbo in and given a boost, then put Dolly in for a game or two, then bring Abbo back in to do the business, and so on!

Failing which, have Gravesend and N got anymore quality rejects?

Dull Ahab the mixture!

IF he was given a chance I think so too. But without seeing his full talent on show on a regular basis then I plump for my original choice.
I wish Dolton WOULD be given a few more games...in succession.Full games that is!
As for Peters choice of Kirk Watts.Yes indeed another that has undoubted talent in that area.

Dolton only plays on the left. Perhaps he will be included when Skins suffers suspension.

We need somebody to work the overlap with Greg, a proper right winger who can cross accurately and hit the target when in on goal. A right sided Jacko.

Proths is a feeder rather than a runner. Can't see him on the wing somehow.

Don't like losing Jacko up front though Chris. He has been used as a makeshift full back before & done a splendid job but his magnificent crossing of the ball & his accurate shooting from all distances is a major loss to our forward play when he is back there.Maybe Dolton could do likewise but somehow I doubt it.Jacko is a master in both. He's also one of about 3 or 4 of our main headers of a ball but that can be a handy asset to have in any position on the field.I can also see no reason why Dolton cant be used on the right side as well. Many a left sided player can be equally as affective cutting in from the opposite flank rather than go round the outside in their favoured position.

Then we go back to my original post about the right flank & a replacement then.Failing any replacement & if you feel Dolton is as left footed as you seem to think he is then we are back with Abbot. So we end up coming full circle. There has to be a solution to this problem because I do feel it is our MAIN let down to being an all round championship winning team.Hopefully Abbot will come good then, with continued persistence or Trotty does actually find someone somewhere to do that job.Whether thats from within the squad or from outside the club is another matter.Someone nippy with the skills to attack the full back & take them on & in more cases than not run rings round them & of course cross a ball.Using our magnificent midfielders to take up that role would be like taking away the "sting" the "grit" & "passing ability" that we currently have in midfield.

It is only that last kick that lets Abbo down. Either the shot or cross that goes out for a GK. If he's got it in him to put that right then great. Otherwise Trotty will have to get somebody in. Jay is too valuable to be utilised permanently on the right wing.

A good topic, because we all know it's a problem area. I think I even saw MargateFan agreeing with us!
