Trott v Hodges

Aside from the disappointment of yesterdays defeat, i think credit must go to both Hodge and Trott for their own particular battle.

I guess having scored a good first goal (why did you not go with him RT )and winning one dubious and one certain penalty, Hodge sort of won their particular battle, but having said that, i thought Robin Trott had a good game yesterday and won everthing else against a very good forward and both emerged with credit in their own personal battle that was certainly very physical but fair.

I reckon both had a few bruises they inflicted upon each other but hope they were able to share a post match beer

To me it was a bit reminiscent of battles between the likes of Shearer and Tony Adams-real old fashioned gung-hoe stuff.

On a day when we let ourselves down in so many ways, and despite being at fault for probably two of the goals, i would make RT our man of the match-god knows what a drubbing we would have had if Hodges had been up against a weaker opponent.

I'd also say that on that performance, as a lover of the old fashioned type of centre forward, i thought Hodges was outstanding-different mould to Danny Hockton who is a goal poacher supreme, but as a 'leader of the line'-i'd love to see Hodges in a Margate shirt !!

If he was the git that near the end of the game went down like a sack of spuds when tackled fairly rolling around the ground holding his legs to stop them falling off, only to get up and sprint away when he realised that he had not conned the ref that time in giving a free kick then no we dont want to sign him
