SSML Div One - "And down the stretch they come"

Recommended Posts

With the Promotion hunt seemingly being a 5 or 6 horse race, who will have their noses in front at the end of April. Will it be "the mighty" (vying for a double after lifting the Division One Cup)," the nomads", Stony, Ampthill or "no hopers away from home" or Hoddy?

For once I agree with Rhodes, great input from Premier Clubs, but are the likes of Cockfosters and Ampthill on the shy side.

As Delia would say "C'mon lets be 'avin ya"!!!

Well you would make it a three horse race involving those Club's however two of them wouldn't meet Premier Division ground criteria even if, in the very unlikely event, you were right.

I'm inclined to agree with the three horses, the showdown on Saturday at Cockfosters could well put paid to Ampthill's challenge. 'fosters have kept two shutouts and netted ten over the past fortnight - I wouldn't put my house on an upset.

Has the league even set the criteria for Premier Division teams? It seems to change every week - talk about moving the goalposts. I think I'm correct in assuming that the three aforementioned teams at least have a ground to call home...

Hi Soren - So Cockfosters have finally put their head over the parapet - well done. I think there are still a few "Bechers Brooks" down this particular stretch with Brimsdown & Cockfosters each to play Stony twice(amongst others),KTFC face "home" games against Ampthill, Brimsdown,Stony and Hoddy and as you say first play second at Chalk Lane this week. As for "Premier status", I believe "the mighty",Ampthill and Hoddy have no problems. But "no hopers away from home" need to cover up, Stony pitch is a 10 minute yomp from their clubhouse and all that KTFC need is a post code. All will be revealed no doubt.

Yes that's not all that's long despite what 3praise might tell you.

Must say that Stony is one of my least favorite grounds to go to. Not only the long walk to the pitch but you have to change in shifts or outside if you have more than 12 in your squad Be cafeful of the middle shower in the away changing room 2 of our players got electric shocks from using it!!

Must say though that their officials seem to be a decent bunch though as you find most places in the SSML.

Has Cockfosters changed much in the last 3/4 years?

Knowing him he'll probably claim that he has seen me in the showers at Coles Park, he uses every trick in the book to obey his lord and master.
