Groundshare with Maidstone Utd?

Recommended Posts

The extra £9000 a year will come in very handy, at least there is no Jim Thompson around if they do come along, as for Dartford they were looking at Stone Lodge Farm area which is just across the road from where they used to play, but not heard to much about it for quite a while, wonder where they will go back to Purfleet or Erith i suspose.

Brian is away on his honeymoon so I can't find out whether this is fact or fiction at this time.

I have to say that the figure quoted for Dartford's rent is not the figure that I have heard from informed sources.

Rest assured that as soon as I can find anything concrete to tell you I will either post it here or use it to shore up the flagging news page.

The regional sport bit of Teletext claim that Maidstone will only get a chance to play if the negotations with Dartford for an extention break down. So it appears we will only have 1 lodger as it is currently rather than 2 which although may seem financially beneficial would, in my opinion, be detrimental to the state of the playing surface and cause difficulties with rearranging fixtures.

Or just arrange the fixtures so that they DO clash, stipulate in the contract that our tenants have to change their strips to red & white, take the field with 22 men and hope the opposition don't notice.....

P21 W21, title'll in the bag by Jan provided we pick up at least 20 points away from home.....naaaaaaaah, now I am being ridiculous!!

Or give Maidstone the pitch as they're paying more, stick Dartford in the car park and tell North Kent coaches to bugger off unless they up their rent.

Then demolish Wallis Park, build a super New Stonebridge stadium on the hill for us, and carry on charging Maidstone and Dartford for use of Old Stonebridge. Quids in.

Although Maidstone are in a very different position now than when they were in the Football League, let us not forget that when they went into liquidation they were groundsharing with Dartford and they went under too. All I say is be cautious.

That was a completely different scenerio, as Maidstone bought the ground from Dartford, so that when they went under, Dartford were left homeless.

As we don't own the ground, we won't be able to sell it, even if the thought had crossed Brian's mind, which I'm sure it didn't.
