AMAZING SCENES AT LOWFIELD THIS AFTERNOON!!

Picture the scene. Hoddesdon Town V Bedford. 65 minutes gone. It's 0-0. Not many talking points up to this point other than a stray Yorkshire Terrier on the pitch holding up play for 5 minutes while several players chase the dog around the pitch like something out of a Benny Hill sketch.

 

Then, Hoddesdon are awarded a free kick some 30 yards from goal. Out of nowhere, Hoddesdon keeper Chris Fitkin approaches the dead ball situation and claims he fancies a crack. Hot shot Danny Bright steps aside much to his dismay.

 

Fitkin steps up, hits a low drive past the Bedford wall and past the despairing dive of the Bedford goalkeeper and the ball nestles neatly in the bottom corner of the goal!!!!!!

 

In all my years as a Hoddy fan I've never seen anything like it! This is the catalyst for Hoddesdon and we go on to destroy Bedford 3-0. Lovely job!!

Nice one, you should get hold of the yorkie and keep it as lucky mascot for future games.

 

Some times goals are scored that you just wish you had another chance to see, on tv for example.

toski claims fitkins free kick was a pea roller that bobbled through the keepers arms.....toski also claimed the keeper saved everything that toski hit...now i really dont know wot to believe !

But you were at Lowfield on 23 December as I saw you in the bar, what you described in your post from your game today, as entertaining as you made it sound, still surely doesn't hold a candle to what you witnessed on that already legendary day.
