Redford does it with defenders trying to stop him!

Indeed Gavin - we wasted a 7 dayer on him, as he wasn't interested in joining us! That was well over 28 days ago, so we are free to try another one from the WLG now!

..
I heard about that, I made no comment at the time, but I wont tell you what Richard said about it LOL Suffice to say there is as much chance of him moving to Hertford as there is of Biggleswade Town winning the SSML Prem div this season!!!!!!!!

How exactly do 7 and 14 day transfer requests work? do you have to put in writing 7 or 14 days before you speak to the player?
Ie, you cant just approuch them offically with no written notice

so we are free to try another one from the WLG now!

...
Does that mean you cant go for the same player twice, or do you mean you are after another player from us?

Don't know where you got the 14 day's from Gavin. The rule is that, for a non-contract player, if you wish to speak to him about a move to your club, you must send a notice, in writing, by recorded delivery or registered post to his club. You must then wait seven days before you can speak to him. It helps if you know how to contact the player! If the player is on a contract (like Ryan Redford), he cannot be approached, even by Ware.

You cannot make a further "7 day approach" to the same club for 28 days, and you cannot make a second approach for the same player in the same season. So, in order to get Morton, we would have to get another club to sign him, and get him from there! (has happened!).

I'm sure Potters Bar Town will correct me if any of the above is iaccurate.

Thanks for clearing that up ( I really could not be arsed to look in the handbook) I thought there was a 14 day one as well. So you can't go for the same player twice in one season, is this just the SSML or non league as a whole? What about football league clubs, or premiership? if they wanted a player could they go after the same player more then once? I would imagine they can.

We have several players on contract, but clubs like Man City / Leeds / Luton Town/ Watford/QPR have been down to watch them, one in particular, and I am sure they could sign them, but would have to pay a transfer fee, and hopefully we would get a decent sum of cash as well as Pre season match with a pro club
