I'm SOOOOOO upset!!

Langford 1 Hertford Town 5 looks like a good result, eh? But 40 goal Ryan Redford was red carded after just SEVEN minutes, for allegedly headbutting Langford's Shayne Willett. I don't normally name referees, but I'm so incensed about what Mr R Hodges did today that I'll make an exception!

Redford had already shown in the first seven minutes that he was going to terrorise Langford - he scraped the post on 30 seconds, had been fouled on 5 minutes but played on and shot at the keeper, and then was chopped down by Willetts. When he jumped to his feet he was barged over by Willetts, and the ref intervened. There was mild surprise when he showed a red card to Willetts, but then he turned to Redford and showed the red card to him too!

No-one on the ground, player or spectator alike, thought that Redford had done anything. At this stage of a game, a yellow card would have done for Willetts but Mr Hodges, without seeking any confirmation from either assistant thought otherwise.

Hertford showed that they can score goals without Ryno, making it 12 in two away games without him, but he will miss the upcoming "big" game with Edgware thanks to Mr Hodges' mistifying decision. He said at half time that he had sent both players off for headbutting. I did not stay to speak to him after the game, as I would have verbally abused him!

Mr Hodges told me before the game that he should have been going to watch Luton v Blackburn today. Everyone at Hertford Town sincerely wish that he had gone there!

Unfortunately, under the new regime this season, we understand there is no right of appeal against a straight red, unless it's for mistaken identity! So the ref can't be challenged at a hearing!

I have to say I thought I missed something during the 'handbags' when the cards came out, I was convinced that Willet would get a yellow, but then he gets out a red, but as far as I could see from the sidelines the Hertford player had done nothing apart from a rather dramatic fall to the floor. I don't know if any of the players said what had gone on

 

With regard to the rest of the game, it is the second time I have come on here to say that, we were beaten by a very good side, their speed and finishing were exeptional today. We did, I think, still try to play football and created a couple of chances. We now have to try and pick up points against those teams around us or we could be dropping into the dogfight at the bottom (Sorry I'll stop now as I am using up my library of cliches)

I find it shocking that no one can appeal against such a shocking decision...worst thing was that not only did everyone in the ground think the ref had got it wrong...even his two assistants knew it too !

There is a right of Appeal to a Dismissal at Step 5 - but it has to be accompanied by a video or dvd of the incident and must be received at the relevant County FA within three days of the game. The offence described is, I would guess, punishable by a three game ban starting 21 days after the offence.

Are those league and cup goals, surley they cant just be league?

Funny that with all your big wins, ie 7 goal victories, we have a better GD then you

 

IF you beat leverstock on Tuesday you cut the lead to 8pts, though you have a game in hand. If Leverstock win, it will be a bad defeat for you, because though you will have a game in hand over them, you will lose ground and with your star striker out, you could be facing a tough time

If you fail to win promotion what are the chances of keeping hold of Redford or Cooper? what ages are they? Cooper is old isn't he?

Redford is a great player, works hard all game, bags of pace, creates so many chances for himself. 40 goals already this season dont lie........
