City 3 Halifax 2

Recommended Posts

Totaly agree with what Lord L said on 3C radio - Not an enjoyable game! Very scrappy and a poor ref.

I think 'Jimmy' should have been MOM - what a first half. I am not convinced by Archer despite the two assists and a goal (shows how little I know).

BTW - Batt has gone the Stevenage - Lord L not a happy man!

Anyway 3 points - onward and pward

Agree about Jimmy's first half, he was magnifique!

Archer did well, two good assists even if his goal was a little fortunate. He's slowly getting the hang of this Conference lark and his speed is awesome.

Halifax were no great shakes, comfortable on the ball but created little. A nervy finish when Bazza kept punching the ball instead of catching it but fortunately we held out.

Good to see Scotty Cousins kicking the ball again, maybe he won't be too long in coming back.

Referee, 2/10.

I think that if we end up getting relegated at the end of the season quite a lot of the blame could be down to the poor officials we seem to be getting for our games, we just don't seem to be getting as many descisions go our way as our opponents do. The ones we had yesterday were really poor. For Halifax's second goal it wasn't just the players waiting for the fourth official to show the injury time board but even the linesman was so asleep he was about 10 yards behind the play and missed a clear offside goal. This sort of descision, the Cracknell sending off and all the other poor descisions we've had to put up with all season could sadly decide our fate, and the entertaining football we play could be irrelevant.

Good to get the 3 points in the end yesterday and Archer looked promising.

First time we've won two games in a row this season! Magic! Up 5 places to 16th. I know it's very close in the bottom half, but it doesn't do us any harm when we're heading in the right direction. How long did those 4 minutes of extra time last? I was almost sure that Halifax were going to equalise. Thank funk they didn't. 3 points against Morecambe please!!

off the beeb

St Albans 3-2 Halifax

St Albans earned a crucial win over Halifax to leapfrog their relegation rivals in the Conference table.

The home side took the lead when Lee Clarke tapped in before Leon Archer added a second with an angled shot.

Felix Bastians struck from the edge of the area for Halifax but Tom Davis sidefooted in to make it 3-1.

Darryn Stamp grabbed a last-minute goal for the visitors and, even though Dean Cracknell was sent-off in injury-time for St Albans, they held on for a win.
