Just watched my local BBC news and there was an article on Basingstoke FC.

 

They have a large Polish community (like us), and they have made up some Basingstoke FC posters in Polish, which they have posted in various places around their town. Such as bus stops, taxi ranks, etc. They also took time to go to places in Basingstoke where Polish people work to hand them out.

 

What do you think ????

 

Unfortunately if we decide to follow in their footsteps, I'm unable to help out, due to not bein local. But I thought I would open it up for a discussion.

Being realistic on this at the moment, are any new supporters who come down looking for local football really going to be compelled to stay and watch another game?

 

Whilst the longer term, hardcore support, will appreciate the current situation and support the lads through thick and thin, what's to convince Joe Bloggs (or Joe Bloggski perhaps) to hang around and watch a side being beaten each week and bottom of the league?

 

BTW - I do think it is a good idea, but I do believe we'd need to be fielding a semi-successful side on the pitch to be doing this and to retain the support, Polish or otherwise.

I agree, It is definately something we can put on a shelf for later on, as long as we don't forget things like this.

I agree it would be a good idea to try and tap into the community abit more particularly as we already regularly use the Polish Associaition for functions etc. Leave it for next season when we will be romping to the title.

just for your info, they currently are trying to make links with the polish association with flyers for games and the like being put up in the clubhouse
