I have to admit, I would be a bit miffed if we are not reinstated, otherwise it would look like 1 rule for us mere tinpots, and another for the "fans favourites" such as AFC Wombles.

As good as it would be for GNFC to be reinstated back into the trophy i have always felt especially this season that their hearts are not truly in it. maybe it would be a distraction for them in the League? What does anyone else think?

Bearing in mind all the big name teams who went out in the last round, we have a realistic chance of actually getting to the final, if not winning it, IF OUR HEARTS ARE IN IT.

That is the imprtantant thing - actually wanting to win it.

i feel that if GNFC really wanted to win it then we wudnt have to be waiting on the result for todays hearing for AFC Wimblebore. You right though gary GNFC are capable of winning it and if their hearts were in it.

My thoughts exactly mind you i feel The Fleet arent considered a glamour team by the Media and especially Sky Sports. I mean did you see the game against Weymouth? ive never heard so much dribble and biasness in any televisied game.

According to RK the FA are meeting this afternoon to discuss this matter.

We'll just have to wait.

Even if we do get to play on 3rd Feb, I'll be working.

Not sure how many precedents there are for clubs being expelled from the competition for the specific offence of not getting international clearance for a player though. As such, it's not quite the same as Bury's situation.

However, there is definitely at least one - Leigh were thrown out of the Trophy in 2004/2005 for not getting international clearance for a goalkeeper of theirs.

It would certainly be in the management's interest to take it seriously. Given that we've made nothing out of the FA Cup this season, this competition represents (if we are reinstated) the only obvious opportunity for Daish to increase his player budget.

Even if Dons have broken the rules, if we are reinstated I will always have an uneasy sense of not really belonging in the competition for as long as we stay in it.

Well they got kicked out, we got reinsteated and got the money for the 2nd Round, according to the FA site, AFC Wimbledon must also pay back prize money from previous rounds as the player also played in them. Amazing that his eligability did not crop up until now.
