Where is Gavin

Recommended Posts

He's probably as gutted as the rest of us! I thought we was the better team over the two games but they had a good defense and their keeper made 4 worldys overall i suppose thats why they have conceded 7 in the league only scored 27, they score and shut up shop!We only scored one goal against them in 210 minutes which isnt good enough!

Not quite Rob wink...

Well the dream is over but I think we have only ourselves to blame. We started very slowy, and went a goal down early, their goal was remincsnet of Geoff Hursts' was it wasnt it in the 66 world cup final, I though it only just crossed the line. No doubt that whitehawk were the better side in the first half, but the second half was ALL Edgware as we went in search of the equaliser.

They had maybe one shot on goal all second half while we had a few chances, but to be fair none really clear cut, Richard Morton made thier keeper pull of a great save, and Adam Wallace had a chance as well. I cant fault the teams performance in the second half, but I am sure they will have been kicking themselevs as to why they played poorly in the first 30 mins of the match.

The game reminded a bit of the Harefield league match (the one that was made void) because they were hard to break down, and we were the better side in the second half.

Looking back, we have had some good games in the Vase this season, KO Hertford and Brentwood in the early rounds, as well as a good away win at Halstead.

It shows just how far the club have come in a short time, when we are all gutted not to reach the 5th round of the Vase, even though we are 11pts clear at the top of the table and are still in THREE cup QF!

I hope the lads put this behind them and get back to winnng ways on Saturday

I did not post last night as I did not get in till around 11, and I was knackerd, sure I would have posted if we had won, but I really could not be arsed after the result.

Wel Gavin , was going to say that you will be exempt from the early rounds of the Vase next season, but of course you will be in the Trophy, won't you?

So how come you are so quiet today then Gavin we still have no real answers, Normally you are the one replying to you're own topics!! Not quite up for the banter today after all you're crowing last week about how Edgware are going to do a clean sweep! Is it true you're going to appeal the result??

browndog, I see you are new poster, maybe you are a whitehawk fan in disguise, after all they dont even have a website let alone a forum to post on, who is your club browndog? player or fan?

As for me being quiet, I have been busy updating my Edgware Town blog, which you can read by clicking the link below, and replying to posts of MY Edgware Town forum, which has become very busy.

I feel that we only really started playing after 30 mins last night, and that once they got their early goal, they settled for it and held on.

The second half was unreal, they must have got out of their half on a handfull of occasions, as Edgware attacked, and played at times some nice footbal. The breakthrough would not come though, had we scored, I belive we would have gone on to win the game, but thats all 'ifs and but's'.

Over the two games we scored one goal in 210 mins, that tells its own story, they only scored two. They have a very tight defence but they dont score many either. Neither game was a classic, but thats football.

Maybe, the easy wins the team have had this season, meant that when faced wtih a tight defence it was harder then it should have ben to break them down, maybe we need more games that push us to the limit, rathe then winning week in week out by 4 or more goals!

We are still 11pts clear at the top of the SSML and still in 3 cups all in the QF stage, so plenty of chances to bring some silverware to the club.

The league has always been the main objective, the Vase just became a nice distraction

Oh well, isnt the 4th round the one you lost to Hillingdon last season? It would have been nice to make the 5th round for only the second time, but there you.

Bit quiet about the attendance last night, aren't you Gav? How did it compare with our 287 for the "Micky Mouse" cup game on Monday ?(your words)

Our attendance was POOR just over 100 there, for a 4th round FA Vase match, no doubt you would have got 400+. I said already that Hertford have good support, the best in the divison and if you were in for eg the ryamn 1, you would be getting crowds ave near 200 like Ware. Hertford have other clubs around them, but no pro clubs like Edgware do, still thats no excuse, we should be getting gates, even though our ave has jumped up 68% on last season.

I expect the biggest gate in the SSML so far will be when you play us at your place next month, we should have a fair number of fans. You never said why the st mags crowd was so big or why the crowd v barnet was so big, were these all home fans/ away, or neutrals.

I did not mean the herts senior cup was mickey mouse as county cups are not, but i meant that floodlit thing you are is a bit MM.
