No mention of our fixture yesterday,and only a very brief word re our hard earned win at ETU,and top of the league with a game in hand,what is it with them,do we get more word on KMFM as i do not tune to that station,WELL DONE MARGATE,not easy on that surface.

Worse thing is that they were getting better by being fairer to the non league clubs.

As Gary said the LONDON club Charlton come alone and get coverage.

As they are stealing possible supporters from us by cheap coach trips they dont need bloody radio coverage from a county they no longer belong to

RK - total waste of space. Only interested in us if we could be on the end of a beating by a lower league side (i.e Whitstable) or they jump on the band wagon when we do well in the FA Cup.

 

Quite often get the results wrong. Convinced we (MFC) have upset them in the past as they fall over themselves about Dover, Folkestone etc.

When we played Bromley in the KS final, RK didn't even know the game was on, even on the day of the final.

After many phone calls and e-mails, the game finally got a plug at 1730 hours - 2 hours before the kick-off.

In a lot of these people's heads, KENT means within a stone's throw of MAIDSTONE, seems they never go much further afield.

I think KMFM could do more too. The news bulletins always talk about Man Utd, Chelsea and Gillingham but very rarely Margate or Ramsgate. I assume this is because the sports part of the bulletin is recorded somewhere centrally. I have e-mailed KMFM Thanet several times congratulating them on their coverage of local news and community issues but asking whether local sport could be included. Johnny Lewis (and Barry the Barber) and Tim Stewart are very good, but I think the news team could do more.

All this is very good and congratulations to all those people who try to make a difference, but why the hell hasn't the club got a commercial manager. Hardly any match sponsors this season and no publicity apart from what the supporters are doing. Everything to atract supporters has been done by the supporters themselves i.e posters at other peoples expense. Surely it would pay to have at least a part time commercial manager. We are top of the league and we cannot sell sponsorship to save our lives. Somebody from the club should be talking to these people on a regular basis. If they constantly send in articles or phone them they cannot ignore it for long.

Just to say that Radio Kent did a Friday night sport slot from six pm till seven pm,that finished about a year ago,it would cover all local sport and the last half hour would be all football,from our minor local leagues up to our Kent Conference sides,this half would include Tommy Sampson and more or less all teams got a mention,what is the point in having a local Radio station that does not cover local sport,and one more point the head of sport at RK Matt Davidson supports Tunbridge Angels,i think they have a fair bit of live cover this season.

absolutely spot on margateshot the club have omly themselves to blame for the lack of information on games, and come to that we are back where we were 12 months ago as far as any information coming out of the club,one such thing is as to why scs didnt play on tuesday it is our business because we pay his wages.this is why rumours start
