Although things have gone quiet...

i would imagine not as their manager has taken over stansteds reserves. i guess he has given up hope of risden doing the business.

FC Risden weren't even Olympian. I think they were Mid-Essex League or something. They were going to use Harlow's old ground but the pitch was too narrow for Step 5 standard.

No disrespect but we do seem to be accepting anyone at the moment. Its good to give teams a chance but surely they should at least be in the intermediate league first?

I'm glad Stansted are struggling after thier Chairman's comment about us last year.

Don't ask me, I'm just telling you the official reason given.

This is an excerpt from their website...

It is with deep sadness that I report that we will not be playing in the Essex Senior League next season. Despite having a ground share in place for a season as well as getting over every hurdle possible the long and short of it is that our pitch does not meet the regulations to play in the ESL because it is too narrow. The maximum width we can get is 60m with 65m being the minimum, the only way we could achieve this is by making alterations to the dog track which is not something that will happen overnight so we have to admit defeat as we cannot make any guarantees to the League that this work will be completed. Upon talking to the owner of the stadium it seems that this may be possible in the future so hopefully one day we could see ourselves playing senior football however for the moment we must concentrate on Junior football and then hopefully intermediate football. We will be playing in the BSSDFL next season and will be making an application to join the Essex Olympian League for the following season, progression on the pitch will then determine progression of the pitch. It is a sad day as for 4 months we have been battling to try and bring senior football to the Stadium but it is not to be.

right im going to clear a few things up for those who think they know but they don't alk

risden were NOT going to play at harlows old ground, they were going to develop the old dog track stadium but they couldnt get the work done in time etc.

saffron walden left the ESL to join ridgeons, from what i understand cos they hated the ESL. they even took a year out of senior football to do so because they applied to late to make the ridgeons!!!!

knowledge is the bomb
