Although things have gone quiet...

perhaps i came accross wrong. i was not meaning to have a dig at the LC as agree does a good job and puts our clubs first.

what i do think is he doesnt want to lose the Essex Senior League and no one wants to come join us from other leagues...... with the intermediate teams being the exception.

the way i look at the ESL at the moment is a stepping stone for those teams who have aspirations for promotion to get to they ryman. all the clubs in our league cant wait to get out, thats why they chuck silly money at players to help them achieve this.

But isn't that what having a multi division league is all about Smallsy.

After a season or two of 40 odd league games, teams like the ones you mention would probably be relegated down a division or even two to where they really belong and leaving the better ones with the better support to play it out at premier level to the advantage of everyone involved.

thing is tbag we are talking about 70-80% who have sh*t grounds etc and there are not enough clubs the fill the void. some clubs are taking steps to improve i.e. southend manor. you have burnham and concord which are the only teams currently with reasonable grounds. barkingside and romford are good but neither are their own. the reast are p*ss poor in comparison the the ridgeons league.

I didn't think for a minute that you were having any sort of a dig at our fine LC Smallsy but surely the ESL cannot continue to struggle along year after year with not enough teams to make up a good league season for everyone involved irrespective of the fact that our promoted ones usually enrich the leagues they move up to and give the ESL a fine reputation for doing so.

It's those clubs who are left season after season who must be looked after.

If the FA took a census to find out which non league clubs throughout England and Wales say at level 5 own or have decent leases on their grounds I suspect there would be more that do not qualify rather than do.

well ideally teams will be relegated into the ESL to accomodate the teams being promoted and we need teams coming up from intermediate. but this is a dream world.

if we had a premier division and a 1st division teams like stansted wont be able to take the p*ss and decide they cant be bothered this season because they would get relegated. they turned up to us with 10 players one being the asst manager who was about 45! i bet they wouldnt be doing that if they were gona get relegated. someone would pull their finger out.

This, Smallsy, is why the ESL needs to link up with someone else so that we have a premier and first division etc and teams who can't make the grade in any particular way would get relegated very quickly.

As it is at the moment and for some years back we have struggled to put out a decent size league each season which must be soul destroying for our hard working league committee.

It's all the others I'm digging at who always seem to have something to say when drivel and trivia is concerned but don't seem to be able to get their brains into gear when an important subject which affects themselves and/or their club is being discussed.

I've given my views on the Kent League and the travelling involved when crossing the Rio Grande.

For my twopennorth, I'd suck the Essex clubs out of the Ridgeons League and put them in the ESL, as has been suggested.

I believe the lack of feedback is not due to a lack of intellect, rather due to a recognition of the complexities involved when merging leagues... at any level.

It's like trying to nail jelly to the wall

Quite so, Hookey.

Incidently, someone posted on this forum earlier that CCL is a London League.

I beg to differ. London is the centre, but it covers more than that !
